Does anyone really think that hybrid airships will play any part in the future of aviation?

Nah, me neither.

They will definitely play a part, the question is merely whether that part will be miniscule or not.

It won't be a miniscule part. More likely microscule, if at all....

After PPI, could crowdfunding be the next big investment scandal?

Hmmm...

I predict that a new company called 'Craft Air Surveillance Helium' will start at Cardington in 2020. They will claim that it can stay aloft for 16 weeks and give an all seeing eye to the battlefield for 25 hours a day. Here is the design artwork:

Simply send cheques payable for £400 to 'Craft Air Surveillance Helium' (or CASH for short) and we'll send you a bumper sticker and guarantee a holiday home in Barbados for 2 weeks a year starting in 2045 (after we have wound up for bankruptcy).

I thought I would do well as Commissioner Gordon myself

In all seriousness am thinking about donating 35 quid - hey I get a little wee model and can re play the classic WW1 theme of RFC shooting down Kaiser's finest airships but with one of my diecast collection of rotorcraft

Better still ask Evalu8tor what does he think of ACM between RW and air(less) ones

cheers

Reminds me of the cartoon airship in the Royal London-pay-to-wards-disposal-of-your-own-remains ad (which I find the graphics and the voice slightly creepy lol )

cheers

I see the pointless gasbag has now grown some dorsal fin extensions....

A bit late for aerodynamic changes, isn't it?

I don't know what your 06:21 post showed, t43562 - all I see is a vertical black bar....

Why late? Its's a prototype aircraft that has barely got going. This is exactly the time when you would expect to find modifications.

It's a not particularly thrilling video. You are not missing much.

p.s. Upgrade your video player.

All my programs are supposed to update automatically, but over the last few days I haven't been able to view any videoclips embedded in PPRuNe posts using IE11.

Firefox seems OK though....

BEags,

BEags has made me think and you Tourist - the magic words from the mouth of babes "upate automatically" - i wonder if to appease the naysayers, the cynics that Airlander will 'update automatically'

Btw have you seen L-M come up with SPIDER repair system for their P-791

cheers

Same with me. This has suddenly started happening the last few days with (I assume) embedded Youtube clips. Got me stumped. Windows 7 and IE11.

Thought it was my PC that had probs.

Same video problem here, BEagle (Mac/Safari, auto-updater).
Ditto the black bar - iMac, El Capitan 10.11.6, Chrome. Any Mac users care to comment in the problem thread started by BEags?
