The clincher for me is shadowing. If it was actually in that position, with the light on the upper surfaces at 12 o'clock to the fuselage axis, then where is the ground shadow??

Forget - if you imagine it is in silhouette...

Interestingly the EXIF data is available on the image.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92...dolow-pass.jpg

Copy and paste the direct link into

Jeffrey's Exif viewer

The basics on the image

'Camera: Canon EOS 350D

Lens: 100 - 400 mm

Exposure: Auto exposure, Action (High speed), 1/2,000 sec, f/6.3, ISO 400

Date: December 18, 2008 2:09:11PM (timezone not specified)
(3 months, 1 day, 18 hours, 55 minutes, 11 seconds ago, assuming an image timezone of US Pacific)'

Usually the photoshop images will be completely stripped of EXIF data. The Photobucket account might hold some clues?

No it doesn't, only if you specifically go into the file and edit /remove it...

Quite a famous image that one.

Photos: Sukhoi Su-30LL Aircraft Pictures | Airliners.net

It looks even lower shot from the other side of the airfield! Photographer is on a raised bank.

Back to the picture title, can't recall ever hearing them being referred to as "sweet" chariots before .......

The left hand spoiler on the Tornado is raised, so if this 'photo' were real the aircraft would have ploughed straight into the ground.

Nice photo shopping though.

The left hand spoiler is raised because it's banking left!!!

Ever think it may have been taken shortly after take-off?

Completely clean its really quite slippy.

This though, at Cott, could rank as one of the best fly bys. And before anyone asks, I know it happened because I saw it with my own eyes.

Ah. Thats easily explained! Simple. The doors were stuck.

They got a techie to lie on his back and the idea was that if it did a low fly past, the guy would try and tap them one by one with a lump hammer. It must have been horrendous on the fuel, but it was a great spectacle. The BBC was asked to suppress the footage because it was feared that faith in the restoration programme might be undermined. I think that sufficient time has passed now though, to set the record straight.

It's a real photo. The ac is actually in the foreground, not over the runway. The ground appears compressed due to the telephoto lens. The surface under the ac is not visible in the photo.

So, could be real and not Photoshopped.

Bet, if it's real, the Nav's not Photoshopped but Photo****ted!.

Equalising it in Photoshop shows where the image has been cut out: Compare the colour and roughness of the edge around the Tornado to that of the treeline (similar contrast).
Nothing showing round the port wing, nothing to prove it's not real to me. Plenty of jets have been flown with gusto like this, and the nav will have been enjoying it as much as the pilot. You'r missing something if you've never seen it, too much time sat in front of a computer with your anorak on. Photoshop

Italian Air Force. So if you know the pilot why don't you ask him?
