This whole thing needs knocking on the head! Anyone with a direct line to Air Marshal P Sturley? Can't imagine he'd be amused.

You can even be paid in RAF money.

The motto Per Ardua Ad Astra has inspired the Royal Air Force to great heights, ever since its inception in 1918. Translated, it means ‘Through Adversity To The Stars’ – bold words which have certainly epitomised the RAF over the last 90 years.

Now, in a prestigious market first, you have the chance to honour all who have upheld this motto in times of war and peace, by acquiring the only authentic RAF coin released to celebrate the 90th anniversary.

The RAF Anniversary Commemorative Coin is a precision-struck collectors issue crafted from lustrous Cupro Nickel and features the distinctive RAF logo in full colour!

On the reverse of the coin is an elaborate raised relief design celebrating the iconic Supermarine Spitfire fighter plane, while regal portraiture of Queen Elizabeth II decorates the obverse.

High demand is expected for this exciting numismatic release. Be one of the first to acquire this valuable piece of RAF history by ordering today!

But if you want a real laugh - go here: http://www.collectiblestoday.com/ct/store_main.jsp

Oh, b*gger, it only plays "Cherish"! If it played "Daddy Wouldn't Buy Me a Bow-wow" as performed by the Central Band of the RAF then I'd get one.

If the blessed Glenn is going to be in an faux Faberge egg, we need suggestions for a suitable musical accompaniment.

633 Squadron, perhaps?

Lafyar Kokov....you owe me a keyboard
Agreed, this has to be the funniest thread ever.

perhaps it should be entitled " tips for making a living by selling **** in a matchbox.

I was always told "you can't polish a turd"

PPrune's knowledgeable membership has taught me otherwise.

Cockey Steve: Whoever told you that was completely wrong. You can polish a turd very successfully, you might manage to change its shape, remove its odour and perhaps even persuade people to refer to it by another name.

The important thing to remember is that after all that physical effort and opinion-altering spin it is still a turd and will remain so until the end of time.

I note with interest that Each illuminated Christmas tree sculpture is an exclusive edition and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. There should be no shortage of those....

And on that note, I'm off to "sculpt an RAF Christmas tree".... (think I'll send that into the Profanisaurus actually)

Designs Wanted for RAF 100th Ann

Right then. Let's have a competition for the worst possible taste "gift" for the RAF 100th Ann in 2018. 1 Apr 2018 will be the perfect time to announce the winner. Lafyar Cokov's JPA model is right up there with the leaders so far.

The proviso is that AFB members have to receive their examples of the winning design on the Strictly Come Big Brother I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here programme.

The RN and the army have offered to sponsor!

Pip pip
