I can't wait until they produce a V-Force Cold War one. Heat and light your house in one flash.
  • The tree, the planes, the buildings and the people are all sculpturally handcrafted in three dimensions and meticulously painted by hand. This individual attention means that no two trees are exactly alike, making each a unique one of a kind.
  • A replica model of a Vulcan actually ‘flies’ around the top of the tree
  • At the flick of a switch, the star at the top of the tree and the buildings in the branches illuminate, bringing your tree to life with a warm, festive glow. A millisecond later the whole will become incandescent and you will bask in rapturous warmth as a new sun is born.
  • Each illuminated Christmas tree sculpture is an exclusive edition and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity
  • Your tree will arrive complete with an AC adaptor for illumination. You can also power the Vulcan and tree lights with three ‘AA’ batteries (not included)
  • Measures 13 inches (33cm) high

Hey Wader,I want one. To whom and where do I send my money?:O

ShyTorque 6th Oct 2008 12:59

I noticed it's very much in an authentic RAF style i.e. batteries not included.

On_The_Top_Bunk 6th Oct 2008 13:31

Almost as nice as the clock.

I can't decide which to order...maybe both if I can stretch to it.

Oh dear just woken up.

http://www.pistonheads.com/inc/images/cloud9.gif .. mmm, nice.

Shy torque, perhaps the clock is even more authentic? '4 moving planes'.

tubby linton 6th Oct 2008 13:39

They also do a cuckoo clock!

Chaps - what a find! I can't thank you enough! I am sending a link to our PMC - currently trawling for Christmas Draw prizes. Imagine how lucky you would feel to win such a masterpiece!

StopStart 6th Oct 2008 14:06

"First-ever illuminated Christmas tree with flying Spitfire" ?? Surely not! Surely this can't be the first time anyone has ever thought of this natural combination? It certainly is a thing of beauty....

As an aside, one assumes this hideous piece of tat isn't endorsed by the RAF in any way, shape or form?

Mr C Hinecap 6th Oct 2008 14:11

StopStart, erm......................

Unmistakeable RAF motifs, precision-handcrafted RAF emblems and laurels and a classic glass dome add further touches of refinement to this regal first-of-a-kind design. Officially endorsed by the RAF – order today!
:ok:

SS

You can't use the words or the roundel in a commercial context without permission, nowadays.

So, someone in the RAF thought that they were a nice idea and that they convey the sense of excellence has so long been the preserve of the RAF. Presumably, he was a little distracted feeding his guide dog a biscuit at the time.

airborne_artist 6th Oct 2008 14:24

Presumably, he was a little distracted feeding his guide dog a biscuit at the time.
Or maybe he was offered a few to give to his "friends and family" :\

Ewan Whosearmy 6th Oct 2008 14:30

If true, AA, one can only assume that most of his friends and family are permanent residents of an old folk's home.

Speaking of which, I wonder what Beagle makes of them.

StopStart 6th Oct 2008 14:34

Dear RAF Corporate Affairs

You utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter pikies.

Seriously though, have you people no taste at all? Raising the profile of the RAF? I get the impression that if they could get the "RAF Logo" on a turd they'd market it.....

Brain Potter 6th Oct 2008 14:40

Newsflash: Mickey Mouse seen wearing RAF watch.

StopStart 6th Oct 2008 14:50

Get back to work Potter. Splitter.

Brain Potter 6th Oct 2008 14:54

Just checking that my tax-pounds are being used properly.

Gainesy 6th Oct 2008 15:53

Wouldn't a TriStar* with half the boxes & bits removed be a better example of an RAF Christmas Tree?:hmm:

* Other clapped-out AT types are available.

I think you'll find that's an example of an airbridge.
