660 letters of representation in support of the plan!! Good going chaps and chapesses.

New recommendation to grant permission subject to two conditions.

Objectors aren't speaking.

Fingers crossed that justice and common sense prevail.

My very best wishes to all of you that attend this evening. Thanks for having the time and the decency to stand up for what is right.

Mrs Norton speaking now.

"Fear of being targetted" my a*se!

I think the phrase "courage of convictions", or lack thereof springs to mind.

Objectors not willing to speak for fear of reprisals!

Obviously they don't have the courage of their convictions and are clutching at straws to hide that fact and have a dig at the forces. The laugh in the audience said it all.

If the objectors genuinely believed themselves to be at risk or reprisal, maybe they should have a think about why that would be.

Looking good anyway.

Please keep posting the snippets, can't get the webcast to run here, not sure if it's getting maxed out or some issue with Realplayer

Seems ARSSE is down as well, might there be a tad of interest in this matter

Cheers.

Councilor Townsend spoke for about 5 mins but has made no significant points against the motion. The cyclist with a billboard with a picture of a soldier on it and the caption:

"Shot in Iraq, Stabbed in the back in Grays Lane."

He claimed not to be NIMBYISH, but his basic point was that the house shouldn't be there, because it should be somewhere else!

Cllr Homewood just finished. Generally supportive, few triv conditions proposed - return to domestic use post-SSAFA etc.

Lady cllr trying to ditch the emotive side and appears to be fully against the planning officers refusal. She has done her homework and is arguing strongly for permission. She has just said the objectors should get out more and that the process so far has been inept.
