Welsh Air Display USAF style
Impressive stuff. It was F-111s doing that sort of thing over my Grandfathers farm that drew my attention to the fact that there were more exciting careers available outside of Mid-Wales...
If you offered some of those images as pictures to hang on the wall I'd buy one. Gods finest aircraft over Gods finest country. Just wish we'd ordered 277 of them instead of a handful of very late Typhoons...

After seeing so many pics of FJ types at low level I sort of lost interest in them. Well not 'lost interest' but had got used to seeing them anyway.
But these are a class apart.
Well done is simply not enough.
I am in awe.

Stuff,
Not sure what the US use (RAIDS?) But it is a telemetry pod for transmitting the carrying a/c position etc to ground stn or other a/c. Remember the de-brief in TopGun where the are sitting replaying their moves?

ACMI (air combat manuveuring instrument) pod - as Safeware said, it's used to link the fighter into the control station at a range so that 'kills' can be assessed real time and then is used as a very valuable de-brief aid to show what happened when during a training mission.

Do the Crews wave?
Silly question Ricko, but if they came around twice, probably they noticed you? Did they wave at you? Do FJ crews ever wave at you? I'd have thought the back-seater could at least give a cheery wave, like the Mustang pilot in 'Empire of the Sun'.
Thank you RICKO, those images are awe inspiring.
Lazer, if you squint right up close to your monitor I think you can just about make out the RIO providing a "cheery wave" in the extreme close up shot.
ALWAYS assume NEVER check

LH, yes we do get occaisional waves, I don't know aboout Ricko but its usually after the 'pass' that I see the wave, when 'chimping' (thats when all the snappers are looking at the display screens on the back of their cameras, we look like chimps, playing with their nuts). Its nice to see!
Excellent Pics Ricko
I`d buy one of them as a framed poster.
How does one get to publish pics on PPRUNE? I took some nice airborne pics of a 4 ship formation I flew in and was considering publishing one or two of them.

Fantastic pictures there!
Same camera as I use for my photography but I can only dream of getting a picture like that - You must enjoy your full time job, if I had the photography skills you have I'd be doing that full time
Good luck.

Re: pICS
Being a techno thicko I have no idea how to get my pics onto PPRUNE. I have registered with Photobucket and I think I have successfully uploaded some images. I note the PPRUNE Mods advice on posting my pics on Nostalgia and History and thats where I draw a technical blank on actually how to do that. Can anyone help as I would like to share my pics. Nowhere near as good as Ricko (I wish) but worth sharing I believe. Many thanks.

how about the Squadron / Base Commander awarding the photographer a flight in one of these machines for producing probably the best ground to air photo of the F15 (or probably any FJ) ever.

You RAF types must have the contacts to bring RICKO's work to the attention of the right person/people on the USAF squadron.
Keep up the great work Ricko
