OC ENG is dead!! long live the new OC ENG

Lyneham's new OC ENG has decided that we are to be flecs and hls no more but revert back to J and K line.

At last after a year of having to put with compleate bo11ocks we can at last get back to a way of working that does the job.

So i might just keep hold of the PVR request for a little longer.

A Victory for Common Sense

Meetings and briefings this week.

Probably in the New Year we are going to undo the mistakes made last December, and split back into J & K Sqns.

It is stressed that this is not going back to what we had before!

I'd like to point out that we are in effect going to be back to the A & B Line situation of the mid-90's, before the 'Twin Fleet Ops' 24/30 - 47/LXX of the late 90's till Dec '04.

Highlights from the 'Any Questions?'

Q. Sir, do you intend to hold anyone accountable for the mess that you have inherited?
A. This is a time to move forward etc...

Q. (SAC Rigger) Why did I spend all night recently in Basrah re-roleing an a/c to full passenger fit and when I saw it off it had one passenger carrying an envelope?
A. Er...

And about a dozen questions about gate guard, detachments, sport, CCS, IRT, etc

I'd like to congratulate the Value Stream Analysis Team who have done the work, and the new OC Eng for listening to his SNCO's.

Too late for the 39 redundancies and the dozen PVR's though.

Now, what shall we call ourselves?

A & B Line? - not allowed
24/30 Eng Sqn & 47/LXX Eng Sqn? - not allowed
JES & KES - (that's what I heard)

K & J Line - whether you like it or not!
Operating from the same respective hangars that A & B Line were using two re-orgs ago!

...and another thing

To the Aircrew who complained that there were no serviceable aircraft and he had just seen some of the lineys playing volleyball...

I should warn you that your life is in danger.

If I find out who you are I will personally **** in your hat.

In the good old days, B Line thought 'JOS' and 'KOS' had a nice ring to it. Our friends in J3 weren't so keen . . . . .

So, we can take it then that her ladyship will be re-organising her rank back to what IT was, and returning the gong (?)?

SPHLC, if you succeed in your second endeavour please share a picture with us

And I second the congrats to the officer who listened to his SNCOs and had the balls to do something about it, before we lost an aircraft. Good news for a change

Thank fark a little common sense has prevailed at last. Is it down to a boy being incharge of the toys again? (no pmt to cope with)
All is looking rosey again, who knows there may even be a minor outbreak of morale.
All of the line dwellers I have spoken to about this are welcoming the change. At least this way it won't ar$e up the crimbo festivities (unlike last time) as it won't be implemented untill the new year.
Well done to the new OC Eng (or whatever title you have been given under the crazy system). You listened, unlike the last person in your position, and acted sensibly.
Common sense is making an apperance at last!!!!!!

Amen to that, SPHLC!

I have bad guts just now if you need a faecal contribution to the said muppet's head-dress!

Did this dingbat not fathom that the reason for the lack of serviceable aircraft may have been that the likes of himself have been breaking the damn things so much?

Try not hitting the ground at 4g!

Anyhoo, returning to the subject at hand... some suggestions for line names:
for K line.. K Rectification And Preparation Squadron (KRAPS)?
or maybe Old Aircraft Preparation Squadron (OAPS)?
and J Engineering And Preparation Squadron (JEAPS)?
or J Engineering Establishment (JEE)?

No doubt we'll end up with something bland and unfunny, but we can always dream!
Bring on the New Year!

I'd just like to state, on the record, that the outstanding success of the Dec '04 Lyneham Eng Wing Re-Org, End to End, Lean Process, Fwd/Depth was due to the drive, skill, professionalism and enthusiasm of :-

Ex-OC Eng Wing
Ex-SEngO FLECS
and Me

Well, you'll have to read between the lines of my post above.

I've received some confidential information that I couldn't possibly post on a public forum.

However, I'll take the lead from the government (a la David Kelly affair)

If you guess right, I may be able to confirm the info

So, lets play 20 questions!

Mmmmmmmmmm So are you saying that you, SPHC was the evil mastermind behind this nasty moral killing plan and you duped the poor old ex OC FSW and SEngO into following you?

That explains why i heard the following when passing your office:

'Moaahhhhhhhhhh Moaaahhhhhhhhh welcome to my Evil Lair'
