Sadly the greatest generation is going West at a terrible rate. The first remembrance parade I attended in uniform was as an AB in 1978. There was a whole platoon of World War 1 vets, the last was the year before I retired in 2014 with only a few World War 2 vets able to march. I guess all we can do is honour their memory by not forgetting....
