When it comes to smuggling LPs (remember them?) out of the NAAFI in yer hat, the Russians prefer stealth to Pussers strong-arm tactics any day.

Contracting out FOST* to the Russian Navy was just the start of the money-saving measures instigated by the Treasury.

*Flag Officer Sea Training - where ships go to work-up pre-deployment.
