What does that mean, in practical terms?
you had too many sick days, a trainer decides he does not like you, your contract changes without your consent - or better to say you have given your consent be simply opening a document without reading it electronically. you need a medical benefit approval to go specialist doctor outside of EK, just to find out you will have to pay it yourself, roaster swap and bid does not work as promised, your vacation rarely is where you like to have it, that you cannot add off days to your leave. when you are called to the office to justify yourself, that the warning letter is already waiting for you, while you not even allowed to have a legal assistance with you and you are by yourself alone. And a very common phrase being heard will be “take it or leave it” That’s the point where you find out your value and how different it is to what they promised to be will applying and joining |

i recommend you go through the previous posts and read about what you are for this company - except a peace of meet filling a seat until they don’t like you anymore because

Spent 11 years working in that dump, what a waste of my life!
Resigned in the confidence they’d never pay my 6 months at 1/2 pay back. Turns out I was right! |

Emirates treats all their employees like crap , unless they are locals. its all part of the fun. once you resign from your previous airline, they own your ass. They are much nicer in the recruitment than the rest of the airline! It's unbelievable the difference in how recruitment makes you feel going through the process and how you are made to feel day in day out as a pilot in the airline !

with all due respect, it took you 11 years to realize that you don‘t like working there?
First of all once you there the own you - mentioned before it’s very easy to get in and very very difficult to get out once you have established a life there. never forget once you want to leave you maybe have a wife in a job and kids in school. For sure you are not making that decision alone. (ask those redundant what it means to get kicked out in the middle of the school year- the consequences and feelings of the kids - what I know so far - a Desaster) the other thing is: if you leave before 3 years they will take the remaining amount of the bond From 3-5 your provident fund is gone After 5 you get only 75% only after 7 you get the 100% of it. and on your return you will need that money as it will your life’s reboot at home. Before the five years the container to move is up to you coating up to12000AED Only after 5-7 years your are entitled to container allowance. not to forget you have to return your company accom to the original state all the costs are up to you to remove any modification. Means your nice garden has to become a dessert again. If not they will deducte that money from your last salary and charge whatever they feel like. over they years there are a trillion factors coming across to stay because of your family. people usually join with no kids or very small kids, very rare they come with kids older than 6 A lot people who had been made redundant, joined 2014 and before. We have seen how EK was before and how deteriorated over time, and we have seen the true face at the end. no one of us has seen that, there is always a step further to the bottom of the barrel, nobody believed they will go the next step into that, obviously, endless whole in the ground. But they did, they did things nearly nobody could have believed, if not seen end experienced by themselfs. we also know today that this company is highly creative to threat employees like sh….! Funny enough if they would only invest as much energy into threading them well - go imagine. Most people thought it can’t go worse but it did, and we know it will continue. you have no idea how your circumstances change once you are there, once the first kid goes to school, your wife Finally has a job, how difficult a move back is. |

Speaking of all those „ you have no ideas“ ..
You are aware what happenened last couple of years in Asia, Europe? Speaking of lay off, discrimination? Going to FTL boundaries and beyond? Inflation? If you moved to DXB with kids you know this would be an option if **** hits the fan. |
Cant wait ! We never had a training centre...

Any idea when recruiting will begin for applicants who aren’t current on Boeing or Airbus but have prior experience on these aircraft?

That is true but be warned that when you join there may be no company accomodation available and in that case you will be forced to take the allowance. You will not know this until just before you travel to Dubai.
