Having references contacted is not necessarily a go....
I know of some guy who had referees checked and got a reply from EK in the negative. Go figure.... Had to wait about 5 weeks to hear that news
Decent chap, too.

If they contact your referees right away it's a good sign. Not hearing anything from them isn't a bad thing, it takes awhile. Took them about 3 weeks to get back to me, you want a phone call not an email :)

Hello GUYS Tell Me The Minimums Requirement For Fo In Emirates Is 4000 Hours But I Have 3500 But Of Wich 3200 Hours On Jet More Than 55 Tonnes Do You Think I Can Apply With Emirates Or Wait For The Total Of 4000 Hours?

Appreciate.........

5man 9th Oct 2007 09:14

As published 4000 is the minimum. But lots of guys who applied for it got more than that. I got bout 5300 TT and 5000 on jets but still when I was at the interview, I had the least amount of hours there. So go figure. :ok:

abdulwahab 9th Oct 2007 18:06

good info thanks to everyone

mekuria 9th Oct 2007 20:14

Hi cubana,
The latest thing in EK is that you can even attend the selection process as long as you are within 500 hours of the minimum time which is 4000.But you can only join EK once you have 4000 hours.

cubana 10th Oct 2007 13:06

THANK YOU VERY MUCH GUYS ABOUT THE INFORMATIONS!:ok:

Khaosai 10th Oct 2007 15:30

Hi,

good info from BusTie, but be careful if you do decide to fly the circuit at 2500 ft, then dont turn in at 45 secs. I am sure you have all picked up on this.

Best of luck to you all going for interviews. Its as good a job as i have had, however i am still looking around for that elusive 20,000 USD commuting contract !!. Wishful thinking for the moment perhaps.

Rgds.

Who can tell me if it is allowed for a EK pilot to send money each month in his original country?

B777 Sim

Have a question about the sim eval. I had a chance to fly the 777 sim with a friend and tried a S/E ILS with the auto thrust ON. No F/D and the ND in Approach Rose mode. So just raw data. We set the wind with a 10kt cross wind. It was really difficult with the auto thrust ON. I flew it a couple of times and found when I flew it with no auto thrust it was alot more prettier. We fly the NG with no-auto thrust when we are S/E. Does anybody know if that would be exceptable during the sim eval?

Also for all you B777 drivers, is it that difficult to fly a complete raw data ILS, S/E. No F/D. I just found the auto-thrust putting in alot of thrust when the airplane was just a litltle slow and taking alot off when it was just a tad fast. Not really proportionate with the amount required. Or maybe it was just my flying.:hmm:

Thanks

They will offer you the option during the prebrief.

Hi does anyone have any info on the tech exam?...Much the same format as CX?

Thanks in advance.

5man 13th Nov 2007 01:01

All I can say is just take the tech exam as it come. I bought the how to ace the pilot interview quiz book and the outcome was not a single question came out. At the end it was educated guesses on bout 70% of the questions. Oh but the questions are mainly ATPL stuff. So if you really want to study then dig into all your old old notes if you still got them. :ok:

Emirates Roadshow 4000 total?

With the recent HUGE order at the airshow last week will the min hours (4000 total) ever come down?

Rumour has it that at the asia roadshow tours last month it seems that 4000 hours isnt the be all and end all. Guys with less then that but hours on 777 or 330/340 seem to be getting in...

But according to there website they will interview you with 3500hours total but you cant join until you hit that 4000...

Anyone really know?
