Application question

Just currently filling in the form and I got to the flying experience part. I don't have military experience. Do I just leave the part blank. Will it let me send application with some sections not complete.
Thanks

MerAir80 1st Jun 2012 16:36

I think you spent more time to write your post then to try and see if it works. :E

vfenext 1st Jun 2012 16:53

DEC's with only 7000hrs TT. Holy crap, the FO's will eat you for lunch.

mesh 1st Jun 2012 21:06

MerAir80, I think you misunderstand. I haven't tried it yet as I prefer to apply correctly first time. This site 99% of the time can be used to source advice and guidance on many subjects from like minded professionals. Unfortunately individuals like you keep bringing it down with stupid little remarks. If you can't help wind your neck in stop being an immature idiot.

MerAir80 2nd Jun 2012 09:09

Kindly, to Sir Mesh . . . . .

Hey dear Mesh, you don't have a very good sense of humor and you seem very touchy, too! Maybe even too much!
I only said that it would have been easier just trying either way to see which one is right. Unfortunately you didn't get that meaning! But it's not my fault!
And I read your polite reply!!!! If you like this way of talking, guess what? Why don't you stop writing silly stupid questions so that you won't get any "stupid little remark"? However, if you don't really know how to fill in the form about military experience (writing 0 or leaving it blank is not the same decision as your poet friend " to be or not to be"!), perhaps you should reconsider your decision to apply. Reading your reply again, I do think that you should unwind a little bit your neck: probably there's no blood reaching the brain, if any!

And a little reminder for you, oh dear: On this forum it's not forbidden (so far!) to write "little stupid remarks" and "very idiot questions", otherwise, respectively MerAir80 and Mesh, wouldn't have been admitted :E

Rogue 22

Rogue is right. First of all remember that in the UAE there is no privacy protection whatsoever as it is a no civil law country where only Sharja rules. Having that clear in your mind also consider that in this vacuum EK can do whatever comes to their mind in order to protect their interests. Actually only one interest PROFIT. If you wonder how they keep hundred of thousand of slave quiet in the UAE and how they maintain "peacefull" a place that is crucial cross point spying games for west and east I'll give you the answer: everything is under control. The number of CID agents in Dubai is unknown but probably in the thousands. Phone are normally hacked.
And the EK screening is no different. The Premium Inn hotel where you will stay is owned by EK and directly linked with the HQ. They will see your web surfing and will monitor what you drunk . The EK facilities are full of bugs and cameras and when left alone they will be observing you and listening to your conversation. So if you are ready for 1984, to work, keep your head down and never ever try to make a point..go ahead.. and enjoy modern slavery.

Dude, you watch waaaay too many movies.

givemewings 2nd Jun 2012 13:18

I think CID have more important things to worry about than how many beers a pilot has during a stay in Dubai. They don't need to bug your hotel for that, just head down to Barasti or Longs Bar on any given night!

Given how many murders they've solved & drug busts made lately I'd say they're worrying about the right things :ok:

MerAir80, thankfully I have spoken to an Ek Skipper friend who has set me straight regarding my question. Funny thing, he thought it was quite sensible. Good luck with your application, I'm sure you will get all you deserve with such a mature attitude....

MerAir80 3rd Jun 2012 13:22

Thank you Mesh. I appreciate it.

Book Emirates

Hey Guys,

as I am invited to DXB the next month, I was searching for some up to date information about the EK Assessment and found a book that seems to be quite new. It is called "Emirates Interview & Assessment Guide". Is there anyone who made experience with the book? Can you recommend it?

Thanks for the Info

Ben:ok:

737rider2010,

According to people exprienced EK interview in this thread, Latestpilot and skytest could satisfy you enough to prepare for assessment.

Could you please answer few questions? if you don't mind..

1. You are a first officer, aren't you?
2. If so, when did you submit the application to EK?
3. Type rated on Boeing or Airbus?
4. What's total time?

Appreciated in advance.

Hi everybody,
I`ve a question regarding the adv. compass test. I did a search through the whole thread and came up with different results. Does the memory test consist of Altitude, Heading, Speed AND Radio frequency? Or is it Alt, HDG and SPD only?
Thank you for answering!

jonjon 11th Jun 2012 19:39

AND Radio freq.

Quite ok though.

Drums only 11th Jun 2012 20:26

@ jonjon:
Thanks!
May i ask also if it is like in real life eg A200 H350 S220 125.65
or even A23760 H174 S337 125.65 to make it worse?
Thanks again.

Varmint

First DEC in a few years just showed up today on the seniority list....assigned the Airbus
If it helps, he used to work for Emirates.

donpizmeov 12th Jun 2012 11:27

Awww common Varmit, you knew all about DECs when you joined. Nothing has changed

This one is a very good guy. Its good to see him back.

The Don

I'd love to see the end of this outdated, restrictive seniority obsessed system. Yes, I know I won't.
Ideally, companies should be free to offer promotion vacancies to a mix of internal and external candidates.
Actually, I believe that Emirates does this anyway.....isn't this what we debating? After 6 years at EK, I am seeing people 2/3 years my junior enjoying upgrades ahead of me, and of course now we have the DEC's. Seems like the seniority list mean SFA anyway.
