suppose you enter in QA and passed the 40y old, on the T7, still have a chance to be upgraded in the future, or is there any limit of age according their OM?

maximum age for command upgrade is 60

which are the internal minimum requirements(years of QA service and hours ) to be upgraded supposed you had a good SIM performance??

3years service in Qatar airways , 5000 hrs for wide body 4000hrs for narrow body

Is there any bond for the T7 ?

3 years start from your final line check 50K USD decreasing on a pro-rata basis

Just looking the right move, or to stay on the B737 and look in the future for an upgrade considering the age of 41!

Thanks a lot

There are people much older than 41 that are in or have gone through the command process. Don't worry about that.
Yes there is a bond, not sure how many years, I think it is 3 years.

Thank you very much for your useful input...
last things, even if I know that is all personal, but considering that have a family with a 2 y.o kid, for a better future perspective, and you have a choice between 2 seats, both as FO, which one would you address me...... to be on 737(my actual rating) in FZ or QA on T7 ?
thanks for your suggestions

Ok i can’t speak about FZ what I know from some friends over there that the command takes around 3 years especially if you have the hours. Flying wise you will fly a lot at night because everything based on seniority and I think they have a thread also on pprune very useful.
Regarding QR the 777 FO now flying a lot due to shortage (I think) it is totally different life style than the 737
sometimes you can get a long freighter flight for 12days so for family it is a bit complicated when you have this flight and unfortunately there is no way to know when you will have it or no. On the bright side it will take you around 3 to 12 months to be freighter qualified so for the first year maybe your roster will be awesome but again flying a lot
QR pays a generous education allowance which is good for your kid as soon as he is 4 so you can think about that as a plus.
Persoanlly I always wanted to fly on a wide body and the 777 is an amazing aircraft. I was also flying the 737 and the rating is quite popular now especially technically you will be rated 777-787 yeah you need a conversion course but...

It seems to me you are at a cross road and you are struggling to decide which path to take. Regardless of what path you take, you are not taking this path alone considering you do have a family. The decision to move should not be made by yourself without including you wife into the discussion and more importantly, you and your wife should decide what is best decision for the family now AND the future. Have you seriously considered the lifestyle change and the impact it could have if joined QR on the T7, not only on your health flying long-haul flying (you're not getting any younger), but also on your family. You will be away from home considerably a lot more vs your current schedule. You will be uprooting your family to move to a sandpit that looks no different from your current location. Dubai has a lot more activities to offer and is lot more accommodating to families who don't have the convenience of escaping the sandpit like pilots. Qatar not so much! Also, you will be watching your 2yr old grow up in pictures and Skype and missing out on all those other precious moments. I'm not sure how long you worked at FZ or how close you are to upgrading, but if you are close to upgrading, is it really worth making a lateral movement in your career to fly the T7 giving the minimum things I just described above?

At the end of the day, getting advice from people here is a bad decision. The only opinion and advice you should seek is from your family. Your family is your best advice.

Appreciate your fast reply and actually you re right.!!
I’m not currently in Flydubai, But I do fly B737 In EU but unfortunately no Upgrade there, so I need to move and I’m not a European Loco fans so looking for the right move and I think Flydubai is the most suitable for many reason...family, future and faster upgrade, same fleet, city and so on.
thanks

I understand it's a tough decision. Until end of last year, I would have suggested QR 777 fo hands down but now with the issues of being stuck in Barwa or Ein Khalid for years or a one bedroom in pearl with kids, 10-12 day freighter trip regularly (used to be once or twice a year) with deadheads of 15h+ in overbooked economy, poor chances of getting proper off days, it's not what it used to be.

For a single guy or if family can commute home it's still a brilliant gig in many aspects but for someone with a family with kids, impact on wife and kids will be big until they get more staff on line.

Yet many FOs and Capts have come from Flydubai to QR. Don’t know of any personally going the other way.

QR 787 would probably be the better option at this time for the reasons stated above. You may still be assigned 787, unless you have a letter of employment for the T7 already, until then it’s a guessing game which fleet you’ll get...

The biggest problem at the moment in QR is the housing. You will be stuck in Barwa city or Ain Khalid for quite some time and you're not allowed to get the housing allowance anymore. Guys with families have been waiting for almost 2 years for housing allowance or a 2 bedroom in the pearl with almost no progress.
Why did they stop giving the housing allowance? To much empty properties already rented by QR?
Is there any difference between the captains and first officers when the company allocates accommodation for new joiners or is it tottaly random?

I believe so, however Captains and FOs have had the pleasure of being allocated Barwa City. Definitely as a captain there should be more options open to you as I understand it as long as the company offers it.

Hello all.
After passing the assessment i was put into the talent pool 2 weeks ago just like most of you writing here. I applied for the TR F/O Airbus position. I have a job and am flying in the meanwhile but also anxious to find out any info. I have read a lot of the previous posts and i know that it’s normal to wait for a good few months before a contract is offered. I have 2 questions.
- Can someone within the company tell me which way the wind is blowing in terms of common gossip as to how many pilots are needed and when new aircrafts are arriving ? Does there appear to be a shortage or is everything functioning fine ?
- I heard of a wattsap group made for people swimming in the pool and i would like to join. Can someone who is in it just confirm that it’s not a waste of time or spam and that useful info is being shared in that group.
Thank you and kind regards.

BOEING DEC

Hi guys any news for BOEING DEC?

Lepo 28th Sep 2018 07:22

No Boeing DEC in the forecast until March 2019 (end of current fiscal year). For the moment company is prioritizing promoting FOs from within. Of course this can change according to manpower requirements for the next fiscal year.

For Boeing Rated FOs things have started to move again and the current wait time in the talent pool is around 1 year from interview to DOJ. Most new hires are going to B777 and some to B787.

ciao
unfortunetly too low low for direct entry..should be higher regardless experience. End of service benefits depends your seniority.

Hi guys.
As far as I understand, the roster in the 330 nowadays is much better than the one in both Boeing fleets. Am I correct?
Cheers.

Fleet rosters and destinations change like the wind here. There is only one thing that is constant, They will get their pound of flesh out of you, one way or another. Come here only if you are ready to work and work hard. Nobody has an easy ride for long. If your type has an easy time this month, chances are you are going to be clobbered in 3 months.

Do they know you don't need any notice period, if not, give them a call or e-mail stating so as you may get a joining date at short notice if they require you
