Bananaman2, Thank you for the information.

Dz_flyer 29th Mar 2019 22:58

Can someone share or pm a 777 roster please !

FLY BY WIRE 30th Mar 2019 19:21

Can anyone in the Know shed some light on how the recruitment is going at QR?
How many screenings do they hold each month? Are they busy at the moment working on a backlog of hold pool pilots?
Are they a bit snowed under with applicants at the moment, or are they concentrating on a particular fleet?

Any information would be helpful.

Many thanks,

FBW

I copied the following from the pilot earnings thread in the T&Cs section of the forum;

For clarity, please post like this :
1) QR
2) RHS
3) 777
4) 3
5) Worked 230 days (of which 15 days off downroute), leave 42 days, off 94 days
6) All flights are with an overnight apart from line check
7) Block 1100 + 260 hours deadhead
8) NET approx 100.000,- for basic and flight pay
9) per diem depends on destination roughly 550,- to 750 euro a month, 3500,- housing + utilities
10) NET income 145.000,- euro per year

777 sounds a bit brutal to me!

education in QR: do they pay for overseas schools/university or only in Doha?

777 Capt: possible to achieve 4/5 + 3/4 consecutive days off per month to commute to Europe without company limitations (24hrs before departure at base, ULR, etc ...)?

Thank you

education allowance can be availed worldwide for School and universities up to 21
regarding the days off well it can be achieved but not 100% every month it depends on how u Bid.
you can bid for up to 6 days off in a row , sometimes also you can plan to divide the 42 days annual leave on block of 6 days every other month .
Commuting is not easy but it can be done .
regarding company policy for rest you need to respect the 12 hr minimum rest ( they don’t monitor it 100% )before duty and before any URL duty you need to be acclimatized to doh.
hope this answer your questions.

They do now.
Some people got into big trouble (including disciplinary action) for breaking this rule.

yes 2hrs
you are welcome
best of luck
regarding the disciplinary action for the 12 hrs rest yeah it happened , after all it all depends on your luck in this company the safest way is to respect it .

If you don’t abide by the 12hr rule you may get away with it. However, if you don’t and then file a fatigue report following your subsequent Chennai night turnaround, then you’re exposing yourself. The QR system is not out to get you, but it does operate strictly by the book. And not just for pilots but for all employees. For example, the company does not care if you perform a go-around, which is SOP. They will care, and ask you to explain, if they find that somewhere up along the approach path you did not follow SOP, which then led to the go-around. It couldn’t be simpler, just do what the book says.

Thanks in advance.

There are slight variations... it will depend on whether you’re doing a CCQ, are Type Rated or need a Full Type Rating, also where you do your training but count on 3months. For the first 4weeks or so you will be doing little or nothing to do with ‘your’ aircraft... it’s Medicals, SEP, Air Law, Company Inductions, Ditching etc.

you get a week Off before Line Training called Training Leave (you can leave the country if you wish)... this is really to enable the company/QCAA to process your licence which you will need to start flying.

Trying to sort out move logistical timing with family move. When/How.... TR. Yes, the Line Training Leave to be able to bring Family, Family processions and Fur Family back in during this time.
Thank you. Will plan on having a week.
Thank you for your heads-up.

Great lifestyle, I can only recommend it to everyone because the city is also so nice and your family will love it. If you are single you will love our fantastic cabin crew as well. They might not say hello to you because you are most likely someone who earns too much for doing nothing, while at the same time just trying to sleep with them on layovers and they know from the company that it's better not to hang out with you (I told you already that the company is smart).
Before I forget, the culture and the positive developments in every aspect of how they run the airline really inspired me.

I really think that I will miss the DOH LAX flight without day off or the cargo runs with min rest every second flight because we have an effective fatigue management system which is entirely embedded in the usual just culture.
Please come and take my place when im gone after my notice is done, the seat will still be warm and I haven't farted a lot recently.

No matter how much you say or how you put it across, no one here is going to listen to you. They will only have to go there and feel what it is like to fly 120 hrs block a month flying through
timezones night in night out. All in a toxic environment. Don't look at the $$ guys, money can't replace peace in life. You don't wana be flying with fear all the time.

If anyone ever turned up for duty and openly admits to me they have not had their 12 hours rest, they’ll be offloaded. You may think this is harsh, but if they are stupid enough to tell me, then it’s their own fault. Just imagine you have an incident during the flight and then this maverick tells the office he informed you he did not have the required rest. It’s simple here, do as you’re required and everything is ok. If you don’t like it, leave and go and work elsewhere.

thanks for your replys...

if you went to the assesment three months ago as you claim they should have given you all the details of the package they offer, I don’t want to sound mean or anything but they gave you a pretty thorough slide show of the terms and conditions, It’s weird you don’t remember any of these numbers.

cino_cool 9th Apr 2019 10:58

easy cowboy:) of course I know that numbers, but I didnt know how many estimate hours an fo flying and layovers etc. it was a general question.

I am sure, as Don Vitto suggests, you will find that out in your July DOJ. With ‘everything changing’, I am sure when FIFA announces in June their reschedule, it will impact heavily between hours on Airbus NOW and THEN.

32 to 48 FIFA will lift ban is what I am implying. Return to Airbus Shuttle to UAE. Might impact you ‘layovers’.... JS. Why do you think Airbus has started recruiting heavily alround? 3mo’s and you expected 1yr.... ? Mmmm. Think shuttle service Cowboy 🤠

I would love to be a fly on the wall as you have that cup of tea with fleet management explaining the delay or perhaps the cancellation of a flight because you saw fit to offload the FO as he had violated OM-A. Good luck Pudding

Thick and fast from September this year (30 airframes on order) and 10 more T7s in near future aside from the 50 777Xs due 2020 barring any undue delays from Boeing.

Do they already know which routes they are going to serve with 787-9?

gottofly 12th Apr 2019 06:25

Aren’t the B789’s replacements for the B788’s which I see are headed for Air Italy. I can see on the Air Italy website that they indeed are to receive 30 B787-8s.
