UPDATE ON A JET
Hi Everyone,
Any updates on this from recent new joiners?
I received an email from a recruiter and am looking at it.
I am mostly interested in the roster, is it 6/3? Because I live 4 hours flight from Istanbul, so I'm wondering if I can commute. If there are standby tickets on Turkish as advertised? And if it's a 6/3, can you generally commute on day 6, if you get me? There are 3 flights a day to my home so I'm wondering. 23/7 Part-time my ass.
Thanks guys,
BD

Hi,
I have passed full assessment. It was really nice experience.
Stages:
1) CRM
Group task and individual assessment with typical questions about stressful situation etc
2) SIM
Quite easy take-off and ILS Raw data without autopilot to IST. You are supposed to fly conventional departure based on 2 VORs. Then take-off engine out and ILS to IST with autopilot. Rejected takeoff. It was quite easy.
3) Technical assessment
HR questions and technical interview. Some memory items, more OPS questions, some procedure from FCOM like CWO or Intercepting GS from above etc.
4) Turkish DGAA Medical
Same like in Europe but better treatment. I was supposed to come with eating the breakfast. After blood tests they sent me to hospital restaurant to eat breakfast. During all tests I was with translator who took me to every doctor. It was very quick like 3 hours.
Conditions:A bonus equal to the basic flight salaries shall be given 3 times a year.
During the high season (June, July, August, September, October) sector pay shall be paid by increasing by 50%.
Of course food, transportation and private insurance included.
Net basic salary in Liras:
CPT PIC up to 1500 351079
1501-2500 389554
2501-3500 413600
3501-more 428028
Sector pay:
up to 00:59 3727
1-1:59 6012
2-2:59 7695
3 - above 8536
night 10220
I do not know what to think about lira stability. It looks like it is stable for some time to salary should be around 18k euro plus every 3 month double basic salary.

A significant portion of the information being shared is inaccurate and unrealistic.
As a foreign pilot, you will likely have a salary of around $13K. The scheduling department will assign you rosters with domestic flights and extensive duty hours, while long flights are reserved for local pilots. The $18K figure applies to instructors and assumes the maximum number of legally allowed monthly flight hours.
This $18K also includes one-third of a quarterly bonus equivalent to one base salary (not two), as well as a fuel allowance for commuting to the airport. The company covers taxes and health insurance but does not provide accommodation.
Regarding home visits and crew scheduling—rostering will make sure your last duty before going home is a late-night flight, and your first duty upon return is an early morning departure.
As for everything else-finding an apartment, registering a mobile number, or commuting to work—best of luck!

Think logically—if a captain on a wide-body aircraft in a flag carrier like THY earns $18K, how is it possible that a captain flying a narrow-body aircraft in its low-cost subsidiary earns the same or even more?

Turkey is a country that is difficult to understand. Its airlines, where foreigners most often encounter Turkish culture, serve as the best example of the misunderstanding between East and West (or the Balkans, if you prefer).
The recruitment process has slowed down since the end of last year, and the AJet recruitment team is currently in Indonesia searching for pilots for Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

Salaries posted few post ago is correct. It is true that in full time you can earn 16K as Captain and 10K as First Officer in Euros (with today FX rates). Salaries are paid in Turkish Lira so they are subject to FX rate fluctuations. All numbers after income tax and social security including sector fee and 3 times bonus and monthly I mentioned is average after dividing all payments to 12 months.. Turkish Airlines -Flag Carrier- pays one of the lowest salaries in the Country.
Unlike it has been share above, recruitment is ramped up and they are intensively looking for pilots. Expecting at least 20-25 aircraft to join this year to the fleet so plan is to reduce dependency to Turkish Airlines operated flights. Indonesia, right interesting choice, hard to understand why.
Finding apartment as foreigner is difficult but not impossible around 800 euro easily you can find modern furnished apartment in 15-20 minute commuting distance to the airport therefore you can simply avoid traffic. You have to buy new mobile phone in Turkey to be able to use your phone more than 90 days and it is not big hassle considering the money you would earn.
Free tickertin Ajet and discounted standby ticker in Turkish Airlines and partners including 1st degree family members.
Best package in close proximity, professional and good operations, new aircrafts. Of course has its difficulties to fly as an expat like in anywhere.

Pilots from Turkish Airlines apply to AJet. I met few of them and they said 737 in Turkish Airlines is really bad as they have 14-18 layover days in month. They said AJet pays much better money than Turkish Airlines. I would be thinking the same but I met few people there plus I have a friend who joined AJet and he showed me screens from his bank account with payments from AJet
every 4 months you have in contract double basic salary so my friend got a little bit less than 30K
It is not a fake. They are expanding very quickly and flying a lot! They need pilots as Turkish Airlines and SmartLynx do ACMI for them. In December they told that 20 aircrafts are not flying due to lack of pilots.

Thanks for the question 738Skyrider, I have the same question, so can anyone shed some light on how long between application and call for interview?
To SmileFly, can you confirm that average nett earnings for captains are in the +/-€18,000 p/m range?
Thanks guys, in advance, for your responses.
