Has anyone attended the assessment in Istanbul? Any feedback would be highly appreciated.

Is it the full TK experience as they are owned by Tk, company medical etc

Giuff 3rd December 2024 09:35

They are sending invitations to rated A320 Captains, honestly the conditions look too good to be true in my opinion.

An agent speculatively sent me this one - supposedly €18809 OTE pm, but I'm guessing that refers to the 5 peak months, and not averaged over the year. Even if it were the year round average pay, it's not more than western locos. No mention of accommodation. Grim bases.

And I stop reading when any company refers to 23 on, 7 off as part time!!! (also eg Sun express) - they'd squeeze the same 100 hours into that 23 days, no doubt at all! 14/14 blocks minimum is expat part time, and even then, a full roster at decent airlines are not much more than 14 work days pm

Exactly my thoughts.

Is there any of you guys that been called for an assesment?

Scot320 15th December 2024 07:40

I've been called for assessment yes but so far no insight into the selection process other than day 1 CRM and day 2 sim and technical interview. Any gen I'd be grateful for a pm.

Scot320 15th December 2024 10:46

I have an Istanbul assessment upcoming. I'd be grateful if anyone has any feedback/prep notes? Many thanks.

Whomever pm'd me thanks. I don't have access to messages until I've posted 3x. Hopefully done so now. Cheers.

Scot320 15th December 2024 17:31

I passed selection for Pegasus but they cut back on numbers. I'm wondering if similar. Pretty straight forward tech type interview with questions relating to emergency descent, windshear reported before departure, what would you do if you had a problem on pushback etc.

Only posting 3rd message here to reach the threshold required to read pm's. Sorry if a bit much guys.

Hi everyone,
it seems that HR department they are not answering …
they stop communication since the 28 December ...
any idea ?
by the way I have read all comment posted above, it seems something is not matching the reality about hours performed and part time ...

What's the expat tax rate in Turkey these days? I think it used to be about 10%. I have seen net pay rates quoted (not necessarily at Ajet). Can an expat be resident in Turkey and still get expat tax?

no idea , since I didn’t get any feedback from them, tax are not priority until you will get the job,
this is my vision…

uberfly 13th January 2025 14:47

There is nothing called expat tax in Turkiye. Whatever offered by agency or company is a net amount after income tax and social security.

jadrolinija 13th January 2025 14:56

Any ideas how many pilots they are looking to hire this year? Are they taking pilots primarily from THY/SXS or direct entry expats?

Textonik 14th January 2025 09:29

Deduction from brut is around 15 percent to Net salary. Heard that Ajet have enough 737 pilots, now just looking for A320 people. Istanbul is much more expensive than it was before but still package is quite good.

solarisa 31st January 2025 08:20

Headquarter is SAW, that area is far away from city center, goood for rents though

Any idea of the net monthly average for an Airbus skipper?
Numbers from agencies are not clear to me.
Thanks
