I counted 6 from BA to EK. 3 EK to BA.

And I counted 0 going from "failed African States" back to EK

True the data gathered is small and many are not on LinkedIn but certainly in the U.K BA is not leading the way. I know a couple who have regrets at joining them.
Just as much doom and gloom on the BA thread as the EK thread. 20 years to command on LH at BA. Top pay is £100k down on old scale. Only going to get worse.

If you can get it KLM/AF are the best in Europe.

People leave and come back for all sorts of reasons but I wonder how many go to get their hands on the provident fund because they need the money for whatever reason, then come back because they didn't really want to leave (or had nowhere to go) in the first place?

First world problems. Long wait times to command are normal at national carriers and that's the price you pay to live in a half decent country and not the arse end of the world like Dubai.

Having lived in both the UK and Dubai I'm genuinely uncertain as to which one you are referring to as half decent and which one the arse end...

You nailed it. After X number of years folks want to lock in those funds, not to mention put them to work in real investments not the scam underperformers in the Provident.

Not sure about under performing funds since you have a wide selection of options. A large majority needed the cash to give half away only to return to the Pit!

BA donít take DEC..... they leave ek for Korean, Turkish, Norwegian, Ryanair, easy, Jet2, Wizz and even flybe. A few FOs go to ba if still young enough.

Going from ba **mainline** to ek... only flew with one line guy on Boeing fleet who made that move and he was happy.
