Time to go

Never started a thread before but here goes,

Time for AS and TC to go time to bow the hats and walk away. You've done good but the aviation world has passed you by. AS you haven't flown a commercial jet in 25 years. You have no idea what 90 hrs (excluding the 1hr 30 and the 2hr 15 pick up) means to people a month. Your deliusional. Tim do you think that taking on the old school American airlines, in a year that it might swing largely republican and maybe the few tee pary electorate will get a say will win you fans? You'll get your 5th freedom rights no doubt. But try filling your 14T an hour A380 "Eupopean" plane out of texas if the American media turn against you. Pick your battles my fiend this one you cannot win. It's a sinking ship and there arrogance will bring us all with them

Poor spelling and grammar ruin a written statement, as does profanity, a verbal.

EK is now an average airline at it's best..

Management has lost it and it shows in all the ratings...

Hello Tomorrow... since that came into force we headed downward....

It's amazing how we have no innovative new ideas to bring us to old goriness....

Well I guess we don't need to... keep shafting the staff and blame everybody else for their miss achievements....

With a $1.5bn profit even the most pessimistic would call your statements a little exaggerated. But as always don't let this get in the way of the great story you have going on in your little head. Like most with an axe to grind your agenda is of little relevance to management and the only real option you have is to leave. You knew this when you joined and nothing has changed. Ranting on a public forum which nobody takes seriously anymore might at best be a mild therapy.

vfenext--maybe read his post. It was a response to the the post above where EK did not make the top 10 in Cabin Staff. His comments were directed squarely to that topic. Where did he show he had 'an axe to grind"???

They made $1.5 billion in profit- great. How long will that last as their product continues to deteriorate? With more competition and BETTER competition they had better pull their heads out of the sand because those profits won't continue and they have squeezed the staff to the maximum now.

Looking just at the cabin crew- they are leaving faster than they can hire (quote from a cc trainer last week). They are leaving NOT because of the money but because if the treatment! Fix something as simple as their bidding system and many would stay. But the attitude from on high is - why bother! That same attitude is now what we see in the cabin service.

And that was the point I was trying to make. I don't blame the cabin staff for not getting in the top ten. It's the way they are treated that causes poor results.

It's no wonder they are all leaving at a rapid rate.

Was told recently of a cabin crew member not only chewing gum but blowing bubbles in the cabin during service! That is a real don't give a attitude, with no concern of the consequences! EK have lost it!

And the top 50?

Emirates management style should be a subject of study on all major universities. To ruin one huge and rich company so quickly and in such an arrogant way is really an achievement.

The funniest part is when they accuse me of bashing on EK and ruining their image, when the truth is that I didn't have to do any of that, they did it for themselves. I've just made it possible for everyone to see it.

Hell, maybe I will write my PhD with them as my case study. They well deserve their own book.

Still feel like discriminating non-native English speakers, Asians, Africans, East/South Europeans (Actually ALL Europeans except British)? Still feel like promoting employees based on their skin color, passport and connections? Please, continue with it.

You knew this when you joined and nothing has changed.
You mean we knew that management is insane? No, we didn't. Did you?

I will give my own example. I didn't know that they will keep me as check in agent forever. I agree that you have to have an entry position at the beginning, but hell - it was even extremely difficult for me to change a simple shift (was doing midnight to 10am for six months, got hormonal disbalance because of it), let alone to change my position.

I told my recruiter about my qualifications. She knew that I have academic working background as well as corporate one. She also knew that I have a master degree. So why would anyone, who is equally educated (sic!) and experienced try to keep talented and educated people on the lowest positions in the company forever? Why would any serious manager treat smart and educated people like garbage? Because they don't have British passport (to be honest, there were some British without diploma in ground staff, treated as **** as well)? I don't have native English language skills? How ridiculous and insane is that?

That company has no talented, smart or educated people anymore. TC lost his contact with reality long time ago. Sheikh doesn't know what is going on and even if he did, he would still trust his incapable and incompetent managers because they are native English speakers. Does he know that language skills are not management skills?

Whole thing was set up in a wrong way from the very beginning. This is a consequence. For the people who did some academic research and study in their lives, it's not really a surprise either.

"You can leave, there is always someone to take over your place" management motto (which they practice while taking away human and labour rights from employees), is a gross abuse of a Human Being. It can go on for sometime, but not forever. EK managers forgot that fact or they thought that they will take the money and leave before the end.

Sustainable thinking is not immanent to most of the people. Still, every company should have at least one high level manager to think of the future. EK has none. This is the only reason why everything is falling apart for them.

Vfe do you actually think $1.5 billion in profits is good for the kind of environment Emirates gets to operate in? Delta just made approx $4 billion and look at their labor costs plus other variables that are in EK favor.
Where is the money going? Obviously not in our pockets as witnessed with the Profit Share and Pay Review. Money is going out the back door and that is not a good thing for us or the airline long term.

If we really only made 1.5 billion last year (which I doubt) it would be demonstrable that we have the worst managers and return on investment in the business.

Close your eyes and think of the number of aircraft we have, the DXB terminals, the DWC infrastructure, and then think of how that might compare to Ryanair's assets. Then have a guess at Ryanair's profits last year.

As a viable business model, judged on returns, Emirates is the joke of the industry.

Emirates is the joke of the industry on so many levels that are too numerous to mention.

Ryanair has a fleet of 317 aircraft and made $944.5million.

Delta has a fleet of 792 aircraft and made before tax earnings $4.5Billion ($1.9billion more than the previous year) or Net earnings of $2.8billion.

Emirates fleet 233 and made a net earnings of $1.2billion. The Group made $1.5billion.

What are you guys trying to say?

Delta basically only operates between the hours of 7am and 11pm. Emirates has 24 hour aircraft utilization with no government oversight and an all widebody fleet to boot.
If you really think making $1.2 billion with the kind of environment Emirates operates in then I hope you are not going to be an accountant in your second career.
I don't think any accountant would say when you hide money that is a good thing for any company. The graft starts getting more and more prevalent with more and more managers wanting their hand in the till. Meanwhile the morale of the frontline troops starts that long but steady downhill slide to oblivion. Look out below.

Airlines are making big profits, and CEOs are cashing in.

Delta Air Lines Inc. disclosed Thursday that CEO Richard Anderson got a 22 percent increase in compensation last year, to nearly $17.6 million.

That put Anderson ahead of the CEOs of American and United, which are bigger airlines by passenger traffic and capacity. He's also more highly paid than the chief executive of Southwest, who was recently touted by Fortune magazine as the most underrated for any industry.

As is typical for top executives now, Anderson received most of his compensation in stock awards — they were valued at nearly $9.6 million when granted. He also got options valued at $3.8 million, $3.1 million in incentives, a $790,625 salary and nearly $300,000 in perks, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Atlanta-based Delta reported net income of $659 million last year, although that included write-downs of fuel-hedging contracts. Without those and other special items, the airline would have earned $2.8 billion.

Shareholders saw their stock rise in value by 79 percent — slightly more than United's shares but far behind the appreciation for American and Southwest shareholders.

Anderson was more richly compensated that American Airlines CEO Doug Parker, $12.3 million; United Airlines CEO Jeff Smisek, $11.3 million; and Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly, $5 million.

An executive-compensation expert writing this week in Fortune magazine ranked Kelly and Alaska Airlines CEO Brad Tilden as the two most underrated CEOs for boosting profits and shareholder returns while getting "modest" pay increases. Tilden got about $2.9 million after excluding the 2014 change in value of pension benefits granted in prior years.

The Associated Press calculation of executive compensation is based on a company filing with SEC. It aims to isolate the value company boards place on CEOs' total compensation package. It includes salary, bonus, incentives, perks and the estimated value of stock options and awards
