EK new A380 destinations DUS and MAD

EK: Good to see two more European destinations going to the A380.

Emirates Announces Two New A380 Destinations in Europe: Dusseldorf and Madrid | News Releases | News | The Emirates Group

What will be next? Rumours?

Let's stay away from the usual A versus B BS please...

Good news if you're on the 380 yeah. Another 2 good trips bite the dust for us on the 777.
As for rumours, I've heard all 3 Gatwicks, 1 Birmingham, the 2 remaining Frankfurts and possibly a Glasgow by the end of the year. And of course the existing US destinations will transfer over to the 380 once they have the planes. Still, there's always the freighter......

no no, the john deere drivers always say the 380 is going to leave EK because the 777 is making all the money, it will only be a matter of time when all the good trips will be back on the boeing ;-)

that a zillion of 777 drivers sign up for the 380 is just a myth

That has to be a record. First post in reply and we're already into the world's most boring conversation.

It was said in a another thread that out of the remaining 18 -300ERs to be delivered, there are still some -351.5t aircraft.

There is already slack in the 36 strong fleet of 349/351.5t MTOW aircraft, and besides GRU/SEA/IAD/BOS/ADL/ORD(May 1st) does any other route require anything above 340t on a regular basis?

If indeed there are a few more -300ER's coming with the highest MTOW option (last was -EGI), they must have something planned with them.

It has been said that capacity will be doubled to the U.S. over the next 2 years. DFW/SFO/IAH going to the A380 has certainly been a increase in capacity, however they will have to increase frequencies.

Back to double LAX and/or IAH? (Additional frequencies on the -300ER?)
