Double Augment on training ULR
Hi All
Understand there is a trial on the 777 of getting the non training crew (ie line bods) to augment on both legs, if the other half are training.
Any thoughts?

As long as we're getting paid the same, does it matter?
I love to fly but augmenting both ways won't be a big problem.... I'll leave it up to you guys to work out how the recommended rest schedule will work, as the current one is designed to leave one crew on Dubai time.

It's been like that for a LONG time - at least on the 'Buses. 345 (going back) and 380 ULR have the line bods augment both ways; so training had both sectors.
Kind of messes up the whole 'approved' rest plan

The only downside is that augmented time spent in the bunk does not count towards the annual 900 hour limit. So, in theory, the more time you augment, the more hours (annually) you will spend on board an aircraft

I don't like it at all.
WK is spot on: It messes up our rest patterns.

On top of that I still enjoy flying, that's the job I chose and still love doing it. I don't like DH, I don't like augmenting, it has little to do with the job, just a side effect we have to live with. But to the bear necessary, please!
For some only the money seems to matter, not the profession or its circumstances. Unfortunately it shows some times, not always, but it seems to be an indicator ......
One other thing: If our employer would be civilised enough to provide a decent seating possibility for augment crews, you know, some place where a normally conceived human being can eat, drink or read without distorting his spine, then it would attenuate the torture. But frankly, what we have now on both fleets is more of an insult than anything else.
To me such pairings are unsustainable.

Gents,
You are all well aware that change is a constant at EK.
Some policy changes will benefit and others will disadvantage, and that will continue for the foreseeable future along with the mantra that you are always welcome to manage your own career, and make your own decisions.
If you don't like to augment and feel that you need more operating seat time, landing practice, or standby time, you are welcome to bid for a A330/A340 roster and 70 days of reserve per year.

Storm in a tea cup.
How many times does this happen to any single individual and I thought the the double augmenting was changed from any training ULR duty, to only those duties where upgrade training was taking place?
