The only downside is that augmented time spent in the bunk does not count towards the annual 900 hour limit. So, in theory, the more time you augment, the more hours (annually) you will spend on board an aircraft
So does this mean in theory you get paid more if you fly more as an augmentee? For example if you get paid the same whether resting or flying, could you augment 300 hours per year then fly 900 and get paid for 1200 hours per year? Seems like a strategy to earn considerable more money as a line pilot.
