As summer is in full swing and we've all turned into 'W A N K E R S', perhaps it's only appropriate to discuss recomendations for a good night out. Please share your own selection for;
(1) Best pre dinner drinks.
(2) Best meal.
(3) Best post dinner drinks.
(4) Best pick up location. ( If you're young, single, good looking....or Scottish)
(5) Best pick up location. ( If you're older, married, asthetically challenged and wish to improve you Russian!)
Perhaps I should get the ball rolling;
1) Rooftop bar at Jumeriah Beach Hotel ****
2) Asha's at WAFI ***
3) Vu Bar at Emirates Towers *****
4) Zinc ***
5) Regal Plaza (Price varies and depends on market rate). 700 should see you sweet for an hour or so but avoid weekends!
* Denotes price. 1 star = cheapest, 5 = most expensive. Asha's and Zinc both offer discount so offer good value.

Did I hear you right...'Cuties"? I've only been to Rattlesnakes twice and on no stretch of the imagination would I ever call them cute! Frightened the beejeezus out of me most of them. If I had ended up taking one, it would have been 50/50 as to who paid who!

Bad experience in Longs Bar
Several years ago, one summer, ended up there slightly worse for wear. Got slurring to a georgeous stunner from some Borat infested something stan place. Anyway, next night back again to see if it had been the beer goggles only to find she was actually rather fit. Only downside was the price. 1500! Not even the request for EPC discount could budge her. " I'm worth 1500 and no less. You want to pay less, take chinese girl or old lady". Went back on a Monday (quietest day for business) hoping for a change of mind offering 500 but still no joy! Tuesday (Yep, you've guessed it, second quietest day) I was back again, still offering 500. This time, she just snarled, muttered some gutteral expletive and walked off. I think I heard the barman call me a loser but I couldn't be sure.
Fast forward a year and it's now 2010. World Cup and footie fever. I take the dear wife to Long's bar to watch England get beat. That wasn't the shocker. The shocker was as we left. As we were about to walk up the stairs to leave, out of the ladies toilets walks Onyabackyabitch, looking as deliciously slutty as ever! Spots me and the wife and shouts;
" See, that's what you end up with when you only pay 500!"
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. 1500 would have been peanuts compared to what the divorce settlement cost!
Oh well, live and learn.

1. Frankie's at JBR - top totty from buildings above, downing martinis
2. West 14th @ Oceana the Palm
3. Buddha @ Grosvenor - still going strong, plenty of Russians who will tell you in first five minutes with that Bond movie accent - "we all Russians are not prostitutes..I haf guud job with Arabian Adventures as Sales mgr". Delighted with yourself you buy a round for her and her mates - three drinks later..."ok if you vant to take me it cost two thousand....it vill be an Arabian adventure you never forget".. WTF!
4. McGhettigans, always a drunk rugby nation snr hostie who has been lebbo'd one too many times coming home to her roots of ........ the bald and the bulging.
5. The corner outside Longs at closing...no need to go in, Miss Ghana will be waiting for you.
