EK training Captain; you want to resign?
Rumours abound of Training Captains that would like to resign their Training positions in EK, but have been told they can't. Is this rumour true, and if it is, are new 'bucks' lining up for the challenge?
Ah...Mutual respect, shared goals....
Cheers

Bollocks.
If you resign within 12 months of completing your course, the company reserves the right to claw back your appointment pay.
The training department will certainly do what they can to convince you to stay, but there is certainly no policy of enforced labour!
Therefore..this rumour is busted!

MM wants guys that are motivated with the right attitude. There are always months when people are low, but he has stated several times that if you want to leave training then he will allow and respect your decision.
trainers are under pressure at the moment and probably will be for along time but he has been the first manager that has tried(not always achieved) to give respect to the trainers. He is constantly battling on behalf of the training department and gets lots of knock backs but he is a realist and picks his fights. Not always on a political basis but what he believes is right or can achieve.
He does not have the authority(or if he does it is often overridden) that goes with his responsibility, however I am glad he is the first SVP that has bridged a gap between departments. Previous managers were so paranoid and protective of their position that they would shy away from the controversial, he does not.

Not quite true. They obviously can't stop you from leaving, but what they can and are doing is pushing your day to go back to the line back and back due to staffing levels. You can't just walk out. So they have been pushing your return to line date back due to that.

In their desperation to recruit so many guys, many unsuitable people will slip through the net, and in about 1-2 years the managers will have to undertake a culling programme to weed them out.
This panic recruitment of trainers goes a long way to lining up the cheesy holes....
