I lost my job at EY for both Whistleblowing and posting on PPRuNe so this is not a surprise at all.
... just for posting or because of the content of the posts?
For both reasons, they didn't like my views of the management. All posts were removed off off pprune by pprune themselves a few years ago.

JH is a control freak and has many resources.

If anything is true here it's the fact that they have achieved to scare everyone to total cyber silence.

All is sweet and dandy in EY, we are the happiest bunch of pilots on the planet.

As has been pointed out, the moderators are regularly deleting posts from this thread but totally lacking in providing any information regarding this situation.

Now - assuming the mods aren't ruthless, uncaring, horrible people, what does that tell you?

A380 Driver, EXACTLY ! The mods, Pprune & EY Management are far too bright and far too busy to get involved in this troll. I got into this discussion quite late and don't know who said what about who. Entrepreneurs like JH and sooooper guys like RH, PM & DW will also know that disparaging remarks go with the territory because it usually will come from an envy base, jealousy base or disgruntled base. Cripes, even me, top gun, filmstar good looks, Ace of the Base, popular with all the chicks gets shot to pieces bhind my back for the same reasons. I always get slammed in the sim & have to resit every check because of all this but don't run to Lawfirms because Checker said I was rubbish & should take up Farming ! (just joking Pprune Police Officers!). BUT, boy oh boy, a lot of frightened chaps out there & that is a bit of a shame. Or, 'sham', heaven knows. Trollers are having a right old laugh at this one and I daresay a number of the travelling public viewing these forums might be asking serious questions about the mindset of some of us in the profession.

Now, must just don me uniform, check the cabin crew list, kiss my mirror goodbye & give in to the neeed, the neeeeeed for speeeeeed !

Guys, I thought it was BS as well so I sent a PM to the mods and got a response that confirmed the story. Doesn't affect me but it is disappointing.

It affects us all, Mos. EY today, why not EK or QR tommorow? You think comments here don't p1zz off certain egos at EGHQ?

You have acussed me of being a company shill in the past, yet this has made even me have a good long think about what I post here and whose nose it might get up.

Best advice would be- if you wouldn't say it to AR or AS's face, best not to say it at all!!

One thing I've learned after living in the UAE is to never underestimate the ease at which certain individuals become offended and the lengths they will go to ensure the perpetrator of the "crime" is punished. Pprune was always a great place to burn off a little steam. Unfortunately that's no longer the case. i for one have made my last post as I've decided it's not worth risking a good paycheck over posts made in anger or frustration. Maybe it's time to find a website that's not incorporated in the States....

we should all send a thank you note to the law firm involved.

Q) what do you call a hundred lawyers chained to the ocean floor?
A) a good start

guys, a simple way to stay anonymous is to go and buy cash a netbook in a small store where they won't ask you for your phone number and stuff like that, go to a coffee shop with free wireless internet, create a userame, and then post whatever you want. change coffee shops as much as you can and do never take your netbook with you while travelling, and to hotels you are staying at.

Wiz, you're right. We've had our differences in the past but this is something we can both agree on. It makes me realize what an amazing gift free speech actually is. It does affect us all in an way. For a long time this was one of the few places you could find good info on certain employers. It's a shame that is no longer the case.

Anyone try to break this story to the papers? I see some juicy headlines:

"Middle eastern masters harass British pilots"
"Whistle-blower loses job for comments about Ethiad" etc.

Lots of details on this and the related threads I suppose?

Drink the Kool-Aid, collect your cheque, get what you can out of it and move on. When do we get a statement from the mods and administrators?

Maybe you should stop biting the hand that feeds you?

Where I'm from, most of the time they go after the moderators, not the posters.

This is a sad thread, a sad topic.

As I am fortunate enough to have found a job with a reasonable employer in union protected central Europe I am still free to speak my mind.

I will never buy a ticket from Etihad, and will discourage everyone I know from doing so as well. Do not throw your money at little dictators, mind controlers, small hung deskcaptains with an ego problem. Slavery has been abolished, even in the UAE.
Do not support it.

Nic
