Info and help
Hello guys
Is the first time I post here...
I flew in QR for 5 years until Jan.2013. I came back home to fly a private jet but unfortunately they just sold it. (Presidential candidate didn't win)
I would like to join EK and go back to the Middle East since my family and I love it there.
However my application sits there and nothing happens. Can you tell me what to do or whom to contact? I will appreciate that.
Thanks

short flights long nights
Of course sim hours don't count... EK is hiring...but they are finding it difficult to find people they WANT to hire.
With questions like does Sim time count you can see why.

If you read one line down on the requirements it says no Sim time very clearly.
They are running 2 recruitment panels a week, 3 weeks a month. The pass rate is not particularly high though.
They are aware of Monarch going tits up and are holding a roadshow specifically for them in their crew room. That in itself shows they are struggling to attract the right candidates.

Xulu,
Just to correct you on the Monarch comment. The boys and girls from mon are highly trained and very proficient , they are not the last resort for EK, more of a lucky find against a horrid situation these pilots find themselves in ( I kind of think that is what you meant but needed to sort out the context)

No, no. I didn't mean that at all.
I meant they are looking for the type of guys coming from Ryanair, easyJet and Monarch so have seen this as an opportunity to collect a lot of credible applications to fill courses as opposed to the time wasters who can't pass the sim ride.

EK Application
My application is under review for ages. I have got a little over 2900hrs on the NG. Did anyone get a call recently? I haven't heard of any Boeing guys who got a call recently. My friend who had bustime recently made it to the BigBus. How many pilots do they really need by next year?
What's your say SOPS?

Rumour has it that 500 to 600 new joiners between the fleets in the 2015/2016 financial year.
The don

It would seem that most of the John Deere and 330s that were to leave the fleet during that period will now be staying. And 16 380s will be delivered, as well as a few more 777.
As I said, rumour only. Lots of commands on the maxi bus and the 777.

Emirates interview ...strange any ideas
Hi guys,
Bit of a weird one, has anybody heard of this happening, any suggestions are helpful no matter how absurd they may sound.
So attended psp1 in ams in May, passed the sim and compass testing....6 months later I was able to attend the rest of the selection in Dubai.
Day 2 was the 700 psychometric testing and the tour. No big deal
Day 3 after group excersise I was called to the side to be told that due to a computer glitch I would need to redo the compass tests again, before my interview. So whilst the rest of the group had interviews I was doing this.
Also was told "believe me, it's in your best interests to do this, so we can send it up for approval"
Did the interview both with the psychologist and then the panel.
Was called in the hotel later that day, to be told that I won't be doing the medical and thanks for my time.
Reached the end but can't for the life of me understand what went wrong....bad luck ? interview was normal judging by past experience with panels etc. Am I being paranoid
Currently employed and operating a popular common jet....but
Was wondering has anybody heard of this happening before ? Any ideas......?
Obviously no feedback available from the HR lady.
Thanks all

A friend interviewed in sept and was just emailed saying that he, and all of those successful from his group, will be placed into a holding pool until further notice.
Has anybody heard why? or has anybody gotten the same info and trying to find out?

Boeing. Another colleague and I interviewed about 2 months before, That colleague was offered Dec starting. I not heard either way. All three have very similar experience and flight time, all are currently flying B747.
Three different situations... maybe we are thinking too much about it, but we are just wondering if they are backed up with training candidates or if there are changes in their recruitment plans

Yes We heard there were some classes for boeing in nov and dec of this year, but we have a current contract through the end of the year and the recruiter had said they didn't have any boeing classes as of yet. If anybody hears any news regarding boeing classes please post and let us know!
Thanks

Hey folks, does anybody know if EK are calling pilots without ATPL for the interview ? would they give you until you get hired to get it done ? how about RJ's Fo's ? heard they've been calling a lot of rjs fo's lately.
