Is the type after joining EK determined like at QR when it comes to Boeing vs. Airbus?

So if a 737 FO joins EK will he become a 777 FO or can they put you on the A380 as well? I remember that it was possible to apply for the specific type but right now it is only one vacancy.

Depends on what they need, but in the past Airbus guys went on the 380 and the rest 777...

You are coming to the ME. Contracts and promises and common sense mean nothing here. Get this into your head right now - it will avoid many problems for you down the line.

Common sense would say Airbus to Airbus and Boeing to Boeing. That doesn't always happen here. It can be changed anytime during your type rating, and even once checked to line. If they want you somewhere else, your going. You have no say on it.

Know a guy who was successful in November and will be joining shortly. Isnít the pool just for guys that are applying now?

Short list pool

Hey guys, can anyone shed some light on the following. Iíve applied and received a email stating that Iím in a shortlist pool, which is governed by marked forces. Is there anyone else in the same situation, and do you know what the prospects is for an interview date? I know that most slots on the 777 are booked for internal upgrades for most of this year. My logic is that it should speed up the process since they would need more Foes. Obviously depending on the capacity of the training department. Look forward to hear from someone with with a bit of insight. Br

Unable to login/email contact

Seeking help here. I can not login despite repeated attempts with password reset action. Is there an email or phone number to contact them on? There seems to be nothing on their website.

Iīm in the same situation! I have been laid off from 1st May, so I am really hoping to be invited to an assessment soon. Seems like they have quite a few applicants these days? I guess we have to patient and wait and see.....

There will be no expansion on the 777 for a couple of years. Indeed, for the next couple of years aircraft will be leaving that fleet. A few 380s continue to come but there will be a net aircraft loss for at least 2 years, maybe longer. That is probably the main reason for lack of recruitment.

No email after unsuccessful assessment

Does any of you guys know what does it mean that I still didnít recieve an email after unsuccessful first day on assessment this Feb. Although they assure all applicants that they will recieve emails stating their next probable assessment dates. Or should I email the HR and ask for a clarification?
