Emirates (EK) Interview - all you need to know about it (threads merged)
short flights long nights
May be the response to you should be...why does it matter? Airlines will be laying off pilots, best case, keeping those that they have. Hiring new ones, highly unlikely.

hahah June? it aint happening even in the so called, superbly updated july 15 speculation. 500,000 passengers have asked for a refund. and i suggest you paddleyourcanoe over at paddleyourcanoe forum - thats the cabin crew forum for your superbly optimistic requests. i doubt expo is the least of events now even if they held it in 2022. olympics and any other major sporting and global event are in shambles. the mere fact that many of us think expo was GOING to be a super awesome success needs to change their handle to usernameshouldnevergohere
many of us are in an existential crisis - enjoy donning your super duper ppe cabin crew attire ....

SOPS - EK advertised on APR 22 for DEC 380 and 77, accelerated commands on 380 and 777 and for FOs on the 380 and 777. I can't due to tech inabilities attach the screen shot, but the ref no are 200000F1 200000F2 and 200000F3.

The job listing that are currently live are registration for future opportunities and not current available opportunities.
I am one of those who was due to start in June but my contract was withdrawn last week. They don’t expect to be recruiting for either fleet for a minimum of 12 months depending on how long the current situation drags on for.

Much pilots that ask here, it doesn’t mean they just got their license yesterday and doesn’t know how aviation world works ok? Just so the Judges keep in mind when will respond to others!

Someone came to work on the 22 April and hit the wrong button (EGIT) . EK pilots still worried about further cuts . Problem with layoffs ie re patriating . Huge cost and some what permanent. Same would apply to other ME carriers. Think it was @2008 TC said 50 pilots surplus but no layoffs , this could be different. To all the wannabes, it's a perfect storm! Good luck !

Be sensible, the world and aviation is in a calamitous situation.
Do you really think in all seriousness that EK is recruiting. They have no real clear picture as to how they will protect their existing pilots or crew. To really believe that there are opportunities is deluded. Any advertisements will have already been pre-booked and paid for. Therefore cannot be cancelled. Believe me when I say that my friends in recruitment have not been near the office in weeks and there are no opportunities.
This is all about protecting the people that they have.
The problem with forums like this is, is that many that post have no real idea and can post incendiary rumours without recourse and give others hope. EK are trying to protect what they have, but they have limited visibility as to how this scenario will play out, therefore recruiting is at a COMPLETE standstill. This is a company in full protection mode. Whilst I am sure there are many candidates who would now love to join us, it is simply not going to happen in the near term.
The world is a very different place now.

Those that were given course dates in June /July have been advised no hiring for this year or 12 months , can't remember, and to " re apply " . The goal posts have changed WRT available experience. Next year we will be back to 10000 FO's , similar to post 911

G’day Airbubba, upon reflection, this morning, I decided that nowadays is not the time to have a poke at fellow aviators. Sorry.
oh and yes I am an ozmate, and a skipper. Stay safe out there.
