Hi WNP,
For DEC the sim is different to the F/O profile.... Its more about NON tech skills etc, than stick n rudder. I believe you will still have to shoot an ILS or two, but its FD's on..(A/T off ).

Vserian,
The Residence/Work Visa takes about a week from the day they take the passports to DNRD for processing.
Normally you will arrive in Dubai, be placed in accommodation, and left alone for a few days to acclimatise to Dubai. On the first or second formal day of work (Induction), your passport will be sent for visa "stamping". You will be advised via email when to collect it. I seem to recall that mine took 3 working days to process.
I hope that answers your question.

Hello All,
I am going for DEC EK screening end of June I assume for B777. I am mainly 11 years B744 but had 2 years on the A320.
I am trying to buy some time in the sim time for a warm up. I was reading they do the sim on the A320 and A310 sims because of the unavailability of the B777 and A330 sims.
Can anyone advise me of the sims in use for the screening?

DEC Sims
Pretty much as you called it. A320 for some Airbus drivers, but some A'bus and all Boeing guys on A310 ATM. Don't sweat the type, just make sure your SOPs etc are all sounds and you'll be fine.
About 1 hour line orientated management exercise: T/O, malfunction, return to DXB, Mapp, then S/E ILS. All on a'pilot, except approaches which are hand flown.

I interviewed in May....airbus guys were given their assessment in the 320, there were some who had time in aircraft like the md-80 and they used the 310 sim. All of us with any boeing experience used the 777 sim. I guess that changes based on availability.

Hi I just got a call from human resources saying that they wanted to go through some details in my CV, they just asked a little bit about my work experience.
It just lasted for 5-10 min. Is that a good sign? Just standard procedure? I applied for the F/O position no Airbus nor Boeing Type-rated.
Thanks.

Hi,
I`ve been a long time reader and have finally registered.
@ Glide Away:
When EK opened the DEC programm i put my application in. My status was -applied- for weeks. As i only had level 4 from my company i took a test for level 5 and a week after updating my details with the new level i got the invitation for june.
My background is 11000h TT, 9500h Boeing 737 with 7000h LHS B737.
Currently flying for an european charter outfit. But also have flown in Canada, the US and in the Caribbean.
What i`ve heard so far is that DECs are for the A330 fleet mainly. But looking at my and 744 NOMADs background it looks more like it could be for 777 as well?
