Sim time
Hi all
Can anyone inform me if CAT D simulator time (Conversion, Recurrent,PC & LOFT) is accountable towards the hours required to meet for EK or any other airline?
They mention P3 and FE but nothing in regards to SIM. Techincally it's still flying if not more so the P3 & FE.

elite assesment program
Greetings all, does anybody know about the elite assessment program advertised, and if you recommended ? Is the program worth the cost and usefulness? Has anybody been successful with the help of the program? Thank you beforehand for the information.

I did buy it and think it was good preperation (has only been through the first day of Compass Tests yet). If it´s worth the £400 I´m not sure though. There were some differences between the Compass Tests you get from Elite and the ones used.

Question about sim evaluation.
Hello everyone...I am scheduled for December interviews, been preparing with latestpilotjobs and seems to have a lot of useful information. All my flying experience is with A320 and I haven't flown the aircraft in 10 months from now , they will take in consideration to set me up for the A330 eval. or the 777? Everyone knows the huge difference between Airbus and Boeing , any useful tips or anyone knows what are they using right now if you have Airbus experience in the Dubai interview?
And regarding the ATP exam I assume is FAA ATP right? 30 questions based on the FAA ATP?
Thanks a lot!

RE: Under Review
I recieved a email last week stating that
"Further to your application to Emirates for a position as Flight crew, I wish to advise that we are currently reviewing your application with a view to shortlisting candidates to attend the selection program in Dubai in the coming months"
And i have been assigned a reference no.
Previously i was updating my application and it had no status now it has reference number along with under review status..
However i do not meet the minimum requirements not even the 500 short requirement for interview conideration.
What does it mean then?

It's my understanding that you will have to be within 500 hours in order to be invited out to Dubai. Once your status changes to "shortlisted" you will be contact shortly thereafter for an interview. I would imagine it won't change to shortlisted until you are within 500 hours.

Hey all
Any idea if they plan on dropping the unofficial 30ton limit any time soon? I meet all the minimum hour requirements, except that one and I am desperate to join !

Cirrus81, without being too specific, what is your experience and how far are you from meeting the minimum requirements. I am in a similar situation.
Secondly, for folks already at Emirates, is there any restriction on people joining from other Gulf airlines, airlines such as Etihad and Gulf Air. I know about Qatar.
Thanks.

Cirrus,
You can be go to pre selection day with more than 500 short, but not to the sim until less than 500 short. At least that was how it was for me!

Loren,
There is a current thread within which the question of DEC recruitment is being beaten to death.
The short answer is: nobody knows.
EK will employ DECs if they need to. At the moment, it would appear that they do not "need" to, as most of the upgrades are being done on the 777, and the deliveries of new ones is going to taper off next year, so the current program (with a bit of a push) should be adequate. The 330/340 fleet are upgrading at a slower rate than the Boeing, so I doubt there will be DEC recruitment for those fleets.
Of course, the above is purely my opinion, and could be totally wrong.
