The main problem RAK will have is that it is so far from Dubai, the volumes will never be there to justify an airline of any size. Air Arabia is currently carrying 2 million pax a year and growing at 25% year on year. I don't see RAK as ever being more then one or too aircraft.

Hansol, you are probably one of the posters on this thread closest to the truth.

It would interest me, and others I guess, to know how many of you actually got an answer from RAK. If you applied, that is.

Talking RAK Airways application

Applied last week, have in excess of their requirements as of now no response.

Anyone heard anything? The advert said you had to be available to start by December, not far off now so has the start date slipped?

I think only the ones who have already been recruited and already signed the contract can give us solid information.

guys if you share your information with us,that would be very kind of you as every body seems to be in doubt.

how would you compare them with air arabia, ofcourse when they jst got started?

thanks alot in advance.

You`re probably correct about those already recruited. But that can`t be many, and chances are they are not hanging around here. Or may be they are?

Came across this one:

http://aviationjobsearch.com/employe...08&vacID=57892

How many B737 start-ups are there in the UAE. Not many. I know about one. The one we talk about here. And if they are looking for a VP Operations today, with the qualifications mentioned in this advertisement, do they have an AOC? And if not. When are they going to start flying?

That is why I posted a response on this thread, in reply to 737BBJ's request.

That is of course your opinion, but no more appropriate than 737BBJ's.

BTW, it is 'aircraft' not aircrafts!

Seems like nobody cared to answer your question. Climate-wise it is very dry But you expected that, did you not? Seriously, a few miles south of RAK, along the coast, you will find a place named Barracuda. I am not so sure if this is supposed to be a well known secret, but here you will find a well sorted store with goods taking care of the dryness in your throat

Quidditch ace,

How is your broom-stick flying these days?

Waiting until they get an aircraft sounds like the most sensible thing written on this thread

Hi everybody!

I had an interview with rak last saturday at Gatwick airport..still haven't got a call from them, the interview went ok, they didn't ask to much questions and they were very friendly, It seems they have a training planned starting mid november.

the first time I've been called by Natacha, who is the person that actualy hires the cabin crew staff, the interviewers send back the information and you will be phoned by them from the UAE.
They are really looking for people who are very familiar with the Arab culture as well as the westen culture. They are getting 737 and 757 wich is a fact!

They didn't tell me anything about the salary, allowance or anything like that. I guess you'll find out about that once you get hired ..

you'll hear from me, as soon as I get more information!

dahlia,

You wrote:

Why did they not tell you how much they want to pay you.
They surely must know something about the allowance.
Did they tell you about accommodation.
Did they give you any indications on when they are going to be airborne.

What is the purpose of hiring you if you do not have the answers to the above. Strange

Who actually did the interviews?

Typical!!! It's state secret. Whatever aviation outfit you plan to work for here, they keep this stuff secret until they managed to get you and screw you next because they do not really put it forward upfront. Nasty fellows!!!
EK is the only one I've seen giving at least a one page showing the details subject to the final assessment. The only ? is the basic salary becasue they base it on your experience. I guess persistance will eventually lead tehm to come forward with the details of the envisaged contract.

737 Tri

Hi everybody ,

I'm still waiting for a date assessment for 737 TRI ; has anybody already been called for such an interview , or been given a specific date ? I believe these interviews should be conducted through Storm , and it would be for a starting date sometimes next January .
Anyone with some kind of feedback is mostly welcome .
Cheers ,
Flaka
