no disrespect. your wife totally rocks, rules your world, spends the money you earn and then does what she wants. again.

Grow long trousers and tough up.

Or die.

Tough up, worker drone. Whinging doesn't make anyone around here laugh much.

See ya!,

Wouldn't want to be ya!

flying.fantomas,
you're probably so spot on here, it's touched a nerve or two. Let the nay sayers get a life. But, don't worry. One day, they will and you can say, you tried to tell them!!! But all they wanted you to do was look stuff up.

Isn't it ironic? (look that up while yer at it)
(ai'ronik), adj

I enjoyed your, ahhh, ummm....what-cha-ma-callit.

best of luck,
Willie

Got to say Willie I could see neither irony nor humour - maybe you enjoy watching the 'Boomerang' channel too

It might have been funny if it wasn't written in dyslexia!!!!

FF

FF,

Don't stop writing mate. Looking forward to your next thread.
As you can already see, not everyone has a sense of humor over here...ignore it.
However... as you might know, a LOT of new guys come from less developed countries these days (oops here we go...). To some extend I can understand that for them Dubai is like a dream come true. Good for them!

I'm having a serious laugh now and then when I look around....

Great stuff.

FF,

keep on writing mate! I loved the story and read it to the missus, who loved it as well!

It is so true I would not call it sarcastic or ironic anymore, this is a sad but true drama!!!

Dubai, Doha, Bahrain or Abu Dhabi.....we are all on that same ghostship (maybe on different decks and classes) but for sure we have all sold our souls...

The trip takes 15 years but most people only realise they have struck the sanddune that will bring them down after5 years+. My guess is that the people here still living in oblivion have not passed those 5 years yet...

I liked it. A bit strange but a few gems in the mix.

I do think it's stupid when people say that "life back home is just as bad or worse" when there are over a hundred different nationalities co-habitating in this little piece of paradise. Someone from the Mugabe nightmare would think they have died and gone to heaven, while someone from North America might wonder what was slipped in their drink during selection to make them think that the cash and toys were worth the removal of personal freedoms. It's all about perspectives.

Hard to say which is more annoying. The constant complainers, or the relentlessly positive Tony Robbins types, about a place that reveals itself more as a cynical, arrogant exercise in waste as time goes on. At least the complainers are honest, if a bit boring. If you scratch the surface of the positive you generally find attempts to self-justify their decision to grab the loot/command/"lifestyle" afforded by having poor immigrants raise their children or do their laundry. Choosing to ignore the emperor's nakedness might help one be more "positive" but it ain't what I consider healthy.

May we all find our way home someday, literally and spiritually.

Cool

Thanks for the laugh FF. I left 3+ years ago after nearly a decade and recognise 1:I left with my sense of humour intact and a lot of good memories.

2:Many have oviously stayed too long and/or you have hit a few raw nerves with some [tongue in cheek] observations.

3.Keep smiling and don't stay too long yourself.

Cheers: e/w.

Excellent FF, I think there is some latent writing talent hidden in there somewhere! Just when I was getting tired of the usual Pprune drivel that seems to be commonplace these days , you came along and brightened up our lives. We might not all agree with everything you say but then I don't think that is really the point, it is entertaining even to some of us coming from the "developed world" don't worry.
Keep it up and looking forward to the next edition

ROTFLMAO, Willie. Nice one!

What a lot of bizarre threads we have today! Must be the (proverbial) change in climate.

Dear mods

Can you tell me why the ignore list does not work with ff?
I second that he can write whatever he wants, no one has to read
it for sure. That's why I though we had the IL for.

But I still get the posts .....

Pool,

I've never used that feature myself. Just ignore any threads that feature FF, simple... Some find amusement, others don't.

Take it or leave it. No rules broken.

Love your thread FF

Hi FF,
Had to chuckle at this thread.
Some people have a sense of humour, others don't have a life.

I got s**t-Canned by the moderator EGGW a few months ago for posting a comment "too lazy to m******ate" in reply to a thread "EY cabin crew for wife?"

Probably will be banned for this one! MaSalaama everyone........
