QA....Bravo...

Recently 2 guys did their sim cx... everything was well.. get their licenses. signed by the TRE and went flying as rostered. Out of sudden they got a call from 320 CPT SD saying that they have been flying illegally coz both of them failed their sim cx...???!!!

Went to SD office, get scolded and were shown a new unsigned sim cx form which stated that they actually failed the cx.

To add salt to the injury.... they were issued a " FINAL WARNING LETTER " for flying without a valid license....!!!!!!

Were scheduled for another sim cx later with a different TRE and passed.

What would you feel if you are in their situation...?

Bravo Qatar Airways.....

The real story

This version of the story is not accurate, that is what the crew said, but actually what happened is they got repeated maneuvers with grade 2 and 1.

The only mistake of the TRE was to let them pass with a maneuver graded 1.

He reported it to the DCPT, he was alerted to the "paper work mistake"
A pilot may get 5 items graded 2. But if any one item graded 2 twice or graded 1, the final result should be considered as "Fail".

The TRE called the 2 pilots on the same night to tell them sorry …I made a administrative mistake, you can't get a pass with a single drill graded 1. The result is : Fail and I will correct the paperwork, please meet capt. S.D. tomorrow and sign a new form.

The Capt. said that he went and did not find S.D. so he left!!

He was asked why did you fly after you were informed of a fail result? He said…I saw the aims was showing a valid date for my license so I though everything is OK!!

The next week, they both got a re-check with another TRE, who passed them.
The captain is under scrutiny from the management, for a follow up on his level, since QA is hiring lately very low quality pilots.

Well... I thought this is the RUMOUR NETWORK... hence the rumour that I posted which is from the pilots ANGLE.... not from the management angle...

Thank you A320 MAN for straighten up the rumour....

But what about the warning letter...? This mess was created by the lack of communication between such departments. Why only blame the pilots...?

Tuan 74, I am not a management pilot, I just happened to know the details of the story by chance when I was in the same place with people talking about it.

I can tell you that the TRE also got a penalty.

The warning letter for the pilots was due to the fact they ignored the information of the failure, they did not report to the DCPT as instructed.

My guess is: they though it will pass if they go on flying and didn't talk about it.

And you think it's not fair for them to get a warning letter?????
What is NOT fair is to allow these brain dammeged so called Captains to have access to the cockpit.
We get enough of stupid warning letters for ridiculous reasons. These guys deserve a termination letter.
By saying that I am not just blowing hot air out of my arse....I've done enough of stand in simulators and sitting in the same cockpit with these Indo$#%^^^sian geniuses to know what I am talking about.

I have to agree with JJ on that one.

Most of these so called DEC that came in lately do not deserve even to have a licence to fly a C152 in a local VFR circuit!

Knowledge and skill are below ANY level, but yet the company hired them because by luck these poor bastards got a P1 rating in their last company!

I hear the stories on a day to day bases from the FOs I am flying with, and I have to say I am ashamed in their place!

One FO got his ass kicked because he wanted to use a high speed exit while doing 40kts. The CApt he was flying with demanded that he slowed down to 10kts on the RWY before he exited!
Mind you, this was in LHR where there is a strict minimum rwy occupancy time policy!

Another one wanted to deice because tmep was below 5C on a clear day! They where the only ones requesting de-icing and where the laughing stock of the airport, but still the so called captain insisted!

A friend of mine on the A320 told me he went to ALY and the Capt wanted to do F3 ldg with AB low. RWY is 2200m long!!! And he even increased VApp by 5 kts for a softer landing! It took the FO 10 min to convince him that this was not a good idea!

The stories are scary!

Granted some line pilots are stupid. Let's turn to responsibility for this particular Goatie stuff-up. Do you think the A320 DCPT is ultimately accountable to QCAA on this one? The TRE and the trainees are his direct responsiblity after all right? Notanotherhiltons opinion would be most interesting & entertaining

Sheep,

if it would only be a low level of English deficiency I would be very happy!

I think that what you are referring to is a very very minor problem, not even worth mentioning, compared to the huge problems we are facing here!

Not everybody originates from within the Commonwealth you know!

The story is a bit funny here for the following reasons

1- When a TRE fails somebody, he should report it ASAP to the
training department and crew sched.

2- Yes maybe the training manager was not available in his office,
but why was not he cotacted by phone, and if still this did not work
then the chief pilot should have been informed.

3- A TRE that does not know his company's training policy!!!! that really
does not sound right.

4- These pilots were informed that they failed their SIM, yet they were
still sched to fly normally.

As I said before, the story does not sound right.

I heard that DCPT 320 is not replying any emails, doesn't return missed calls on his mobile, no follow up for the training roster...etc.

That is why a crew flew with expired license...and trainers are flying non training flights while trainees are waiting to finish up the required sectors!

Is this true?? if yes...why is he acting like that?
