For the benefit of those who weren't there...

No, surprises but some confirmations, here's a quick sum up. Please fill in if I missed, or misunderstood something. PM me if you consider any of the below information inappropriate or "sensitive" and I will delete it.

Bonus
- A 3 week bonus for all employees has been officially confirmed. It will come on a separate pay check once...hmm...it's been finalized who and how many will be taken off the payroll.

Fleet "news"
- A320 (normal) A/C are coming as planned, starting from July.
- A320/A321 Long Range A/C are to be delivered from beginning of next year.
- Not 100% finalized, but "almost certain" that they will go for Bombardier C-series which includes 4 A318 (first to arrive in November) to cover the gap in deliveries and provide a "bridge" between regional jet and A320 operation.
- A330 delivery put on hold, but will in the future replace the existing ones.
- B787 still on order but far enough in the future to be considered speculation.
- Still battling to get rid of the A340 in order to facilitate an efficient A320/A330 mixed fleet operation.
- Direct entry EMB-guys will not be thrown out upon the end of EMB lease.
- The CM1/CM2 major SOP change not yet confirmed but being evaluated...(no change there then)

Kabul
- Plans going ahead but security is still being evaluated.
- A security brief will be held before commencement of operation.

"Technical sickness"
- Is identified as a major problem and is being addressed.

Leave tickets
- Several complaints have been raised. The problem has been acknowledged and will be addressed.

Roster changes
- Is a factor and will keep being a factor due to things like commercial demand etc. Once mixed fleet is in operation a change may be seen.

Roster request
- The lack of approved roster request will be looked into.

Finance
- GF cut costs BD40-50 million 2010.

It should also be mentioned that the company acknowledges and appreciates all employees efforts and loyalty throughout the recent events.

Happy landings!

That's total lie, the landing was normal , but after vacating the runway on the turn to join the main taxi way the airplane stopped, and when the power was applied the aircraft didn't move forward but started going back , someone thought the reversers were still deployed but manage or the nosewheel steering is gone , but there was no indications , it toke about 5 mins from touch down to chock on so I don't know where is that 15 mins came from , as u said ur banker friend must be traveling a lot so that wasn't the smooth landing he was expecting , and one more thing , runway 34L was in used and if someone can remember that the main taxi way was under work and construction just got ready and the engineer said that this is not the first time aircraft have problems on vacating the runway due to soft patch , like kartoum. So people alwas make things big from nothing , so they should get a life

Hi!
I would like to touch base with people who recently applied for a Direct Entry FO position.

I am a 320 FO with experience.

How soon do you get any news from the recruitement team for a possible interview?

HighOnProfile,

That pretty much sums it up. One more thing, the upgrades will be on the A320.

If this is your mentality , well done susing people out and judging there skills from your seat, I will leave you to enjoy your assumptions about others and always think that you are the best and most skiledl pilot if that what you believe

Back to the GF topic again.

Seeing the 787 is now finally heading the right way and gaining momentum, when can we expect to see GF take delivery of their batch of 24 B787's?

Also, are their more A321's on their way?

And finally. Reading the rumor here about the A318's joining from NOV this year, will they operate side-by side with the E-Jets?
Cause those E-Jet leases aren't due to expire until early 2013 (E170) and early 2014 (E190) , right? So what's going to happen to them?

321 LR are joining next feb (4 or 5 of them).

318 will operate together with Embraers, as of what was told on the meeting.

Bombardier CSeries order?

Any further information on when/if Gulf Air will announce an order for the Bombardier CSeries? Could an announcment be made for the Paris airshow, or might it be later in the year or early next year?

I read a while ago that Gulf Air was looking for around 10 frames, and I would assume that these would be for the CS100 model (if indeed Bombardier beat out Embraer for the order).

And with those A321's, does that mean fleet growth in terms of numbers or will they replace the other 2 and some 'older' A320's?

Any idea where those A318's are coming from? (Frontier?)

Old 320s are gone already, only EE and ET(321) waiting for the engine overhaul and off they go. 320s might replace 2 319s and 1 321 left, the others will be additional ones.

@ 727man

They've got non TR'd guys for the 320 till October I believe, and there should be an upcoming assessment in the near future.
Not sure how many hours you've got under your belt but they're pretty short of pilots.
Second Officer Positions are only given to Bahraini nationals.

Good Luck!
