POOR 11223344... wondering who is the most miserable....Yes my post are negative But not venemous , and i dont think i make big noise here by telling TRUE problem about Q.A.(salary problem,inflation.....Did you ever open a newspaper in Doha..if you able to read...),I have no intention to invent stories about Q.A....
No further comment.
Ramiyns: you are right..but when my interview for Etihad came, like a "miracle"....Qatar Airways Upgraded me...Good.. i'm really thankfull to the company for that...but i can't continue to loose money on a daily basis here, so when i will have my minimum requirement as Cpt to go where i want to go, unless there is a dramatic change in Q.A. salary, i will go.
Is it just normal that some people dont loose anythink(U$ peg to the dollar) while some others have already seen their salary devaluated by more than 40%..yes 40%.....!
Oh i see some people will come and say i'm too negative and miserable......

11223344, in the past, were you a CSD with QR? Or, are you still one, actually? It's just that your comments and tone and language and grammar remind me of a certain person who was/is. Do you also speak Singhalese??????
I think you quite probably do, my dear!!
Gotcha!!!

Gent's, let's be fare with the acting CP technical:
- New SOP: they are almost 99% Airbus, you want to tell me that our previous SOP's were a state- of- art ? with their printing errors and endless pages of nonsense explanations ? at least now, we should start to receive Airbus SOP revisions which were missing in the past.
- New fuel policy: so what ? I'me the commander, if I want extra fuel the new fuel policy will not stop me to take it, however I should have a good explanation, after all, fuel indeed is getting very expensive.
The guy in my opinion is doing OK, I felt that most pilots on the A340 are happy with him, Expats manage to get 8 consecutive days-off every month, rosters on time, I hope that my fleet could provide the same one day.

He'd be doing even better by adopting part A from AI as this document is a state of art. Two dogs won't like it but he's gotta swallow the bitter pill.
Don't take it personally take it on the rocks!!!

May God forbid the day we adapt to AI's part A!
The critsicism on the CP technical was of a technical nature! He might be good enough to do the secretary's duties on day today bases in regular fleet management ( hence the 8 days off), the guy is totally worthless when it comes to technical issues!
NA, you think this SOP is 90% airbus? Think again mate! Its a mishmash of all sorts of documents....which is why it is so incoherently and wrong!
Have a look at that new CPDLC note which just came out! I hope none of you guys is following this as it is wrong as well!
Especially the clearence part!
Go on the ICAO website, have a look at the aibus documents etc...but DONT follow this document!
Its written by a greek wannabee management captain who is now in charge of technical publications, and it was approved by mr "Ignorance is bliss" who is acting CP technical pilot!
No offense, both are nice persons, but they should not be allowed anywhere near a management seat!
If only the CEO would listen to people who come knocking at his door with complaints, iso of sending the feedback back to the culprits in order for them to start an investigation!
Its a joke....Its all a joke!

Qatari515,
I quote you:
"If only the CEO would listen to people who come knocking at his door with complaints, iso of sending the feedback back to the culprits in order for them to start an investigation!"
Reference to your above statement, It seems to me that your are one of the people who who come knocking at the CEO door instead of expressing directly your professional opinion to the concerned management.
As pilot with dignity, I will never accept to behave like a CS/CSD, standing at the CEO door, in order to screw a colleague, even if he is a manager that I don't like (and they are many in QR), and neither you should accept the same !!!! have some dignity, please.

sounds to me like NA got a point there. What in Lords name does CEO have to do with flight related issues? He's neither a pro nor does he have time methinks. Jeez where the hell are we here? Hope he isn't counseling your marriages guys. He looks like a shrink to me.

AI part A isn't good?
Hey QR 515,
I must admit to be surprised by your reaction. What's wrong with part A from AI? I'd have thought that's only logical to swing to it since AI SOP has been adopted already. In my eyes it's very well structured logical and certainly most comprehensive manual I've seen. Even LH one is somewhat behind it.
Care to elaborate? Maybe you got a good reason?

Dont get me wrong here guys....
I have never seen the CEO in his office and I did fight for my own issues within flight ops management!
But the fact to the matter is that the CEO does get involved in ALL flight ops related issues we have on a day to day bases.
He does interfere in the daily ops of the airline in more ways than you think.
He is the ONLY one who decides on policy changes, no matter of what importance.
So I know certain people who went to see him, after having tried everything they thought was necessary to change things as a gentleman...After all of it failed, they finally went up to talk to him and really told him everything which is going on....
Mostly he reacts...
But recently an algerian pilot, quit frankly a pain in the neck but incredibly knowledgable and gifted technically, went up to see him and talked for a long time.
The CEO was shaken and reacted, but in stead of taking things in his own hands like he usually does, he organised an interview board done by two management pilots....which quiet frankly is as usueless as tits on a bull!
Thats all I wanted to say...
AI OM Part A
1) Better than LH.....you must be joking, right?
2) Its not a bad OM, but its full of bureacratic mumbo jumbo and tooooooo much unnecessary talking in a true and well known Indian tradition!
3) QR should just stick to 100% airbus sop....thats all

How anyone in this outfit can see ANY merit in this latest load of crap from the CP Technical is completely beyond me. It is riddled with errors, omissions and downright wrong instructions.
The SOP is yet another case of a job not being thought through and being tasked to someone who is just not up to it, as is the Fuel Policy (but that's another matter).
The initial intention (at least that sent down to us at the coal face) was that we would revert to Airbus. Not that an airline manufacturer gets it right all the time, but that would have been better than what we have now and certainly would be better than this recent waste of paper.
All that said, the word is on the street that sanity has prevailed and the 'new' SOP has been canned. Let's hope it's true?
515. As to listening to that **** with the white hair....come on now? I used to value your posts but you lost me on that one. If they accept any input from him, they should remove him from the cockpit permanently first!
