Deepest Condolences

Our deepest condolences to the Family that is in great pain. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
Truly wonderful to see all of our brothers uniting to support in anyway possible, even though we cannot remove their pain. Only time heals. But we never forget them.
God rest their souls and May God ease the pain of the ones left behind.

It's very sad news.

Unfortunately, I don't think anything will change the way some people drive in this region.

The things that I have seen since I got here have left me speechless on occasion. It is a cultural thing - an aloofness and a complete lack of appreciation of human life to us. But to them, if it's your time then it's your time. So hard for us to swallow. I don't think I'll ever see the reasoning behind it - from the high speed manouvers to the allowing your two year olds to stand on the front seat unsecured. Terrible.

My condolences to all involved.

Alberto was just beginning his upgrade.
He and his wife moved from Columbia for a better life, for them and their two boys.
All of us at EK are saddened by his and Omars tragic death. Marie Paula's comments at the memorial service showed us what a remarkable woman she is.
We can all help by contibuting to the account set up in her name. Imagine what 1700+ pilots could achieve for her and her two sons.
We owe Alberto nothing less.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting this Gentleman just last month as he was preparing for his upgrade. I was impressed with his kindness and generosity, his humor and his demeanor!
I was in Dubai only for my interview, yet he accepted me as a part of the team and was genuine in his sincerity looking forward to my coming back to be part of EK.
I was saddened by the news of my short lived friendship with him...and would only add now: May his soul rest in peace amongst the heavens. May his family have solice in the knowledge that he touched so many with his kindness. My prayers to his Family, friends and comrades.

After a long time I can say that I am proud to an Emirates pilot.
Am told there has been a huge response from the guys for both families. The company has chipped into help transfer the funds as well. Well done all round.
There was a decent turn out at the memorial service too.
WTF think you owe me a public apology.

And yet again - stay off the hard shoulder!

"Road accidents due to high speed driving are taking hundreds of lives every year in the UAE.

Sharjah: Two adults, three children and an unborn baby died in two separate accidents on Thursday night, police said.

In the first accident, two Indian girls, Ayeesha Diya, 6, and her sister Dina Ruqiya, 3, who were sleeping in the back of their car parked on the hard shoulder on the Al Dhaid-Sharjah highway, died instantly when another car slammed into them at 11.30pm, police said.

Their pregnant 29-year-old mother was rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital where a baby boy was delivered after an emergency operation. The condition of the baby was not immediately known, but the mother is under intensive care."
