Bonus/overtime
Is QR known for giving out a bonus to staff? Does QR pay overtime, and if so, after how many hours? And last one, what is an average month(hrs) for captains on the A350.
Thanks,
CR

Holding Pool
Hi..any idea what is the waiting time in the Hold Pool for a DEC with A320 experience of about 9000 hours..what am I looking at?? Is there a chance that they could regret the offer after a year of being kept in the holding Pool???

So , they still take DEC's(of course they do, they are for sure still desperate)? Might think to "re-join" my good old friends of QR. How many stories we could exchange.....
Now, @rflies. As you seem not to know your fantastic future employer really well. Yes, they keep you in the pool as long as they seem fit. No, they normally do not answer pilot emails or requests to join earlier because maybe the current employer has "folded" and no notice period anymore required. Was back in 2006 like that, it is still like that.
Other example - had a (experienced) FO here in my current outfit and we did quiet a lot of flights together. As he knew my "background story"(including of being a former QR skipper) he once told me that he did the interview there, got accepted, waiting for a joining date. As I knew this clowns down there quiet well I STRONGLY advised him to stay away and instead pursuing an upgrade with our current operator(which is as well not really the "yellow of the egg" but at least a very much growing european low cost with good future ahead).
Quick forward, five months later. He told me that he was being considered upgrade AND he received finally word from QR that they finally considered him joining them(yeah, they are a very generous bunch down there). I warned him again and told him to stick with the upgrade and send the qataries where they belong - to the desert(^^).
He actually did that in a clever way by stalling them(so he could see which option would be "earlier" available). Still he made them believe that he would join at given date. NOW the "fun" starts - 1 month before the anticipated joining date they told him that he is back in the holdling pool with(again) no clear start date as THEIR situation has changed(WTF?). At that point he finally told them to piss off. NOW - he had good advice from someone who knows them already, normally, 1 month before joining you would have resigned already from your current employer, leaving you very vulernable. As he never resigned he was not really in that position, but he was very aware where he could have ended up asking to be re-employed, of course not on his current good base but one of the crappier ones with to less pilots. ALWAYS have a backup plan if dealing with QR.
He promoted in the meantime to captain back here in Europe with a paycheck between 8000 and 10.000 Euros. For sitting in his own country flying for an european operator with full benefits(which are not offered with ANY me airline). WHY would you do that to yourself to go down there.
Just a story I wanted to share. It was the same way back then when I joined them, I passed, went into a (very deep) hold pool and finally got a join date 1 year after my passed interview. Bad thing was that my airline went bust in the same(!!) month I did my interview and QR gave a **** about it. Never replied, never helped. I had to "bridge" myself with a lease job so I was staying current or I would drop out of the pool.
I know India is currently a bad place to be a pilot but heading for QR? This is a monster without a soul, believe me. They may hire you within the flick of an eye but they will fire you with the same speed(if you have honest friends in QR ask them, they will tell you the same). Good luck anyway from a fellow aviator(A320, you will spend a LOT of nights flying in a row, another thing to consider).
