I'm just curious how you define "Recent". If you mean in the last 3 months, trying looking back through the last 20-30 pages. If you don't find anything, then look back through the last 3-months of post. I posted my interview experience on page 173 to get you started. It applies to CA, FO, & SO. If you still haven't found the answers you are seeking, then it would be appropriate to ask your questions. No one is going to do your homework!

....Rant over!

@pilotdreamer: what can we expect with that slowing down? Are they going to increase the entry requiements? Or a stop hiring on the narrowbody fleet?
I submitted my application this month. I hope i'll be not too late.

Slowing the hiring at Qatar is complete opposite to what we were told during our assessment day. The HR lady told us that they are increasing the hiring for pilots for 2012 to 60/month or 720 for the year.

This is straight from Qatar HR mouths, no rumors.

Interview on Dec 18th

I interviewed on December 18th so here is the latest...

They have hired 300 pilots in 2011 and are planning to hire as many if not more in 2012... Currently have 98 aircrafts with 178 on order....

Our interview class consisted of 12 ( they are running classes of 12 candidates every week)... 3/4 of the candidates were there for the direct entry captain position.

Interview still consist of the three phases; written, panel interview and simulator ride. The best descripiton of the process is the one posted By av8tordude on page 173. The only difference is that we were all put in the A320 instead of the A330 sim... Power setting for the A320 are 5% higher thn the ones given for the A330... The sim consisted of takeoff intercept two radials using an RMI (outbound thn inbound) followed by an ils to a landing.. Repositioned at the end of the runway; takeoff APU fire ils to a visual approach landing..They dont grade anything below 200ft... Ceilings were 2500 ft and 10 miles winds 300/10...The whole experience was phenomenal!! Very friendly!!!!

As to the little things.... Qatar airways will only pay for your room... Food at the hotel is not cheap but you get 20% off... The morning buffet is excellent if you can afford the $27 price tag..... Wireless is not free; i signed up for a 2 day subscription for $25... The hotel has scheduled events where they provide a temporary password for wireless internet... If you hang out in the lounge and buy a drink you can get the password from the waitress ..There is an ATM in the hotel by the elevators. If you plan to check out the souq of waqif which is a must see it's about 10 Riyals from the hotel.. Cabs dont take credit cards so have some cash on you (make sure you have small denominations because most dont carry much change)?..

I can think of anything else.... If i do i will post it..best of luck to everyone...

To clarify, we have hired 300 pilots in 2011 but not all accepted the position and those who did accept, not all passed thru the training with success.

We presently have 102 aircraft on the ramp (the 100th arrived ceremoniously back in October. B772)

We interview 12 candidates 5 times per week Not just once a week.

@ 21-Lancer: Awww i applied pretty looong time back on March 2011 was an old recruitment system, and then when it got changed with the new one they send me an email to re apply again and that was by June ...

Dont worry bro they just take a loong time to get back to you as i believe there's a plenty of applications that they need to go through one by one ..

Can you please tell me how long does it take you to get done with your MCC in Egnatia ?

@ Bond737 : Am looking as well for getting an MCC course so we can go as partners since all academies ask for it !

If you are interested am in contact with Alpha aviation academy in Sharjah it will cost around 20,000 Dhs ..

PM me if you wanna join

MCC?

I have not seen this requirement from QR before? Is this for normal SO position only?

Under all positions they want XXXX hours on Multi-pilot aircraft. So now you are not considered if you have no MCC?

Even if you have a TR or SIC TR with XXXX hours on JAR-25/FAR-25 transport category multi-crew aircraft?

This makes little sense.

MCC

I also applied for FO position, there was no mention of MCC on the requirements list at application stage. I also received the email asking to upload licenses, passport etc and MCC certificate (about 1 month later). The earliest I can get on a MCC is end of Feb next year i.e. in 2 months time. Anyone think Qatar would accept my application with MCC pending in Feb, at least so they can invite me for interview in early March when I will have MCC.
