Hey

Can someone tell me how long it will take after the date of joining until you start with the Type Rating or CCQ?

And what will be the timing for medical, classroom (OM-A, e.g.) after DoJ.

Thanks

Language proficiency

Hey,
I was wondering if we have to pass again the language proficiency check once in QR or if it will be based on the level and expiry date gained on our initial licence (JAA)?

No need to retake language test. As long as it is on your license and your CAA can verify.

Rostering

Hi guys,

Sorry if this is slightly off recent topic. Can anyone tell me how often, if ever, an A320 FO might have enough rostered days off in a row to return to London to see the Mrs.

Also if the travel concessions make this feasible....

I'm not on 320 fleet however I recently bid for a block of 6 days off (last month) to get 'home' and ended up with no more than 2 off in a row for my 8 days, making it nigh on impossible to get back. I'd imagine on 320 it would be even harder as they are shorter on crew, purely in the hands of the rostering gods i'm afraid, no guarantees with anything here!

To get back to UK on ID90 business it'll cost you about £260 return obviously cheaper in cattle.

Devine wind,

A friend of mine just got hired as DEC onto the T7 at QR, he has 8 years PIC+LTC DC10-30F experience plus commands on various other "smaller" jets (727 & 737), no glass cockpit experience though.....maybe that helps put your mind at ease.

Does any body know about the roster and pay per month.

Unlucky,

Any fleet in QR is the "place to be" in the Middle East.
QR's a320 fleet beats that of any other in the Middle East.
Only comparison would be EY's, and QR's beats it anyday.
It is hectic, far from perfect, it beats any other airline's 320 roster though . (just incase you are put on the a320)

If you have already been assigned the a330, there is nothing like the long haul flights in QR compared to any other airline IMO.
You will have made the right decision.
You will not be unlucky

Good Luck!

Personality Profile

Does anyone know if during the interview stage at QR they are looking for a specific personality type? Are there any special answers they are looking for, especially when they are asking non-technical questions?
