AVE.com(Phoenix)

Hi!

Can anyone provide info about AVE? I know they operate 732s and 733s...

-Do they hire pilots from around here or elsewhere?

-Are they into the 'safety-thing' or only on paper?

thanx

Devil Please be very careful !

Hi there MustangV8,

AVE.com do operate 737 200's and 300's, out of Sharjah Intl. They also fly out of Dubai at times.

I would be very careful and profile this company thoroughly before joining. They were called Phoenix before. I have a colleague of mine from work who was offered employement with them providing he obtained a type rating himself. So he went to the US and did so, returned to try to convert it with them. Kept getting pushed from one office to another, issues from the UAE GCAA with the company meant nothing progressed until one fine day when he was provided a termination letter with reasons completely baseless towards him.

I don't know the complete story with them, however please be careful so as to avoid falling in the same trap as my colleague did. Type ratings are completely worthless if you can't utilise them.

Hope this helps. Take care for now...

Avoid

Agree completely with avi8tor. Avoid if possible. As stated previously this outfit was called Pheonix, however the reputation of Pheonix was completely smudged after their aircraft and ground crew were grounded by the GCAA until they got retrained and rewrote thier ops procedures. Hence the name change. (I think they got retrained by Etihad)

Most of the crew are Russian or of eastern Eurpoean descent. Communication can be quite difficult. They seem to like to "keep it in the family" type of thing.

If I was you i would look somewhere else, as you have only heard 1 tragic story, but there are many more to be told.

lycan, csek,

Thanx for that, just what I needed to hear!

Lycan...that's quite tragic about your colleague, hope things worked out for him. Is he using his TR now?? It really makes you wonder how these operators are issued AOC's in the first place!! I wonder how they treat their existing crew...?

take it easy,

Yes a lot of these things are truth about this company but this company has made major changes since the name change and they have just had their AOC prolonged for next 2 years by GCAA.
They also have contract with KBR so if this two serious parties believe them they must have done something right.
