The code for Bahrain
Hi guys!
I do realise this is not an aviation topic, but since we are all eigther in the profession or have a love for it I felt at ease to ask my question here and is only looking for an inocent answer.
Ive got a friend that stays in Bahrain - Im in South Africa and I know that we here in SA have a code (+27) that is put infront of the cell phone number - my question is whats the code for Bahrain?
Can anyone please help me?

The code is google.com followed by: international dialing codes, or country telephone code, or country calling code - you just have to use your imagination before writing off-topic posts.

Slugmaster you were not being rude, just a jackass...read the topic of this thread...it is titled "the code for Bahrain" I would imagine a request for the IDD code would be appropriate on this thread don't you think? Maybe not on this aviation FORUM...but since this FORUM accomodated the THREAD with the topic of "codes for Bahrain"...then it seems reasonable...

Gosh - this put a smile on my dial!!! A damn good question from Bokkie, as having lived there a whole lot of years ago, I never realised that there was a separate code for fixed and mobile lines!!

One second of searching on google would have given him the same result. Some guys are very quick bashing when someone posts for the 1000th time all those "conditions in QR" or "interview with EK" posts, mostly with a good reason - this is a case of more of the same - someone being to lazy or not knowing how to make a simple search.
As for the being on topic - next we will have threads about prices in McDonald's in ME countries or people's favorite temperature range - after all it is loosely connected to the middle east and it is posted in a middle east aviation forum...

NOTE: Effective 1 December 2003, all Bahrain numbers were converted to 8 digits:
Previous six-digit fixed line numbers were prefixed by 17.
Previous seven-digit mobile numbers were prefixed by 3.
Parallel running of old and new number formats began on 1 December 2003 and will remain available until 1 June 2004,
when only the new eight-digit numbers will be valid. The old numbers will then be connected to a recorded announcement.

The 6 digit landline numbers had area codes...3 for Muharraq, 2 for Manama, 6 for Isa Town and A'ali and 7 for Budaiya.
Utterly pointless...but what else would you expect from a company like Cable and Wireless installing a phone system in a country the size of Walton-on-the-Naze.....!

SM, you seriously need to remove that stick from your @ss. As for Mac prices, it is rather relevant seeing that the Bic Mac index is a rude form of of gauging living costs, which is a reletive topic on these forums. Temperature range affects acft. performance. So that is also relevant. My, how insightful you are when trying hard not to be.

wow - guy asked a question which he could have avoided asking here and he gets 14 responses, well 15 now... and yet i see on this forum many reasonable questions remained unanswered....
