Gallstones?
had the kidney stone job done and guess friggin what, have 2 gallstones. Semi silent and acting up more with irritable bowel, sharp pain in shoulders etc now and then. Total crook I am. I'll be out for months on end after surgery??

Gall stones can be done in double quick time...if the surgeon wants them out. I was walking around the Oaks reception 36 hours after walking in.

's sake get them...and it, out. I have described the pain on this forum, if you really search waaaaay back under my name, you'll see what I mean.
Blue light job and several days in hospital to get me stabilized, them home to wait for months for a slot. Surgeon phoned me and said he was not happy about this, and pulled the thing out privately. He probably saved my life...the bladder was covered in black patches - whatever that means.
About two weeks before I wanted to play tennis
I found a few bits. The long post has the Gall stone part under the links about something else.

The pain associated with an attach is totally disabling.
Had my gall bladder removed 18 years ago at the age of 26.
Two days in hospital post operatively.
Running 8 days later and just a little tender.
Used that fancy laproscope thingy. Four small cuts, no stitches.
Doctor said in about 5% of cases he had to make an old style incision to complete the surgery. This will have you in hospital 10+ days and off work about 6 weeks.

If you get it removed with keyhole surgery you should recover very quickly. If (like me) you end up with open surgery then yes, it will be quite some time. The pain from an attack is very disabling, the pain from mine rupturing was unbelievable. If you are having problems / symptoms don't delay - if it ruptures you are in for a rough ride, if it ruptures in the air and you are on your own getting down safely will be a nightmare.
