If you get it removed with keyhole surgery you should recover very quickly. If (like me) you end up with open surgery then yes, it will be quite some time. The pain from an attack is very disabling, the pain from mine rupturing was unbelievable. If you are having problems / symptoms don't delay - if it ruptures you are in for a rough ride, if it ruptures in the air and you are on your own getting down safely will be a nightmare.
