Peripheral Neuropathy
Having seen my GP there is a chance I have a condition known as peripheral neuropathy.
I am aware that this is a catch all term and it contains within it some 80 or more seperate conditions, all of which affect the functioning of the peripheral nerves creating various symptoms to various degrees.
Whilst some conditions can be quite severe, my symptoms are a mild tingling in the little fingers and ring fingers of both hands and of all of the toes in both feet. Other than being a mild irritant it has absolutely no effect on me, my mobility, or my movement and has very gradually developed over some 12 to 18 months.
My GP has done the usual blood tests to rule out diabetes, vitamin deficiences, liver and kidney problems and I'm not on any cancer treatments, all of which I am aware can induce the symptoms.
My concern is that I hold a current JAR class 1 medical and I am keen to know what effect if any this condition would have for retaining my medical.
Regards,

Can't answer your specific question re: the medical, but I'd be keen to seek an expert opinion, rather than the diffeentiial diagnosis of your well meaning GP, before you are labelled.
Unless your symptoms resolve.

In fairness my GP has not made a diagnosis, but has merely given me an indication of what it may be.
He has referred me to a consultant neurologist for further tests and diagnosis, but in essence my limited internet research certainly concurs with what my doc had said.

so far so good . . . . . . . . !

Next thing I would want to know is your age (not on profile ! ).
Totally agree with neurology referral being the next step.
At this point your class 1 is probably not under threat at all, in view of the very minimal symptoms you describe.
Once you have seen the neurologist, and depending on his diagnosis and / or advice, you just MIGHT need to ground youself and report your situation to the CAA medical department.
Do let us know how you get on in due course. Good luck !

Thanks for the response.
I'm 34 and weight nearly in proportion to height, but certainly not obese! I am fairly active, excercising frequently.
There seems to be very little on any forums about this condition and flying, but at such a mild stage, and with little worsening of the tingling, I am certainly hopeful.
