Whats in a JAA class 2 medical?
Hi all im new here, just preparing for my trip over the pond to Kissimmee to do my PPL.. One of the eligitability requirements is to 'Hold a current JAA class 2 medical certificate'
I was wondering the following things.
1. What is examined in this test?
2. Where can i get it done (If i have to in the UK)
3. How much would it be?
I'm really sorry if its been asked before but like i say im pretty new and just need it answering.
Many thanks guys
John

The details of everything that is covered is on the CAA's website (here in the UK) seen as the certificate is issued by them. There's a .pdf file with the requirements and the tests conducted.
You can have the examination at any registered AME (Aviation Medical Examiner) - see the website. It's over pretty quick (mine took around an hour, if that) and costs vary from AME to AME - mine was around the £160 mark and is valid for 5 years (this will depend on your age).
Like I say, it's all on the website of the people who issue the certificates...as you might expect.
Good luck,
