Whats in a JAA class 2 medical?
Hi all im new here, just preparing for my trip over the pond to Kissimmee to do my PPL.. One of the eligitability requirements is to 'Hold a current JAA class 2 medical certificate'
I was wondering the following things. 1. What is examined in this test? 2. Where can i get it done (If i have to in the UK) 3. How much would it be? I'm really sorry if its been asked before but like i say im pretty new and just need it answering. Many thanks guys John |
The details of everything that is covered is on the CAA's website (here in the UK) seen as the certificate is issued by them. There's a .pdf file with the requirements and the tests conducted.
You can have the examination at any registered AME (Aviation Medical Examiner) - see the website. It's over pretty quick (mine took around an hour, if that) and costs vary from AME to AME - mine was around the £160 mark and is valid for 5 years (this will depend on your age). Like I say, it's all on the website of the people who issue the certificates...as you might expect. Good luck, V1R |
