Air Dolomiti

Ciao a Tutti!

I am presently flying as a First Officer on a light turbo-prop in Canada and have a few questions regarding flight deck opportunities with Air Dolomiti. I have flown with Air Dolomiti as a passenger and was very happy with their overall service.
My first question is regarding experience requirements. How much experience do they require and what type of experience do they prefer? (I.E. Turbo-prop, jet, glass cockpit etc..)
Language preference. I am fluent in English and have a very basic understanding of Italian. Are pilots required to have 100% fluency in English and Italian?
License Requirements. I currently posess a Transport Canada CPL with all ATPL exams successfully completed. Would a JAR conversion be required on my part or will an ICAO CPL suffice?
Any other information regarding pilot recruitment would be greatly appreciated.

Grazie

TF;

Thank you for the link.
I have visited that particular link before and also found it to be very straightforward.
The reason why I asked about recruitment is because I have found many many times that sometimes what a particular company advertises for pilots is not necesarilly what the company requires or actually hires. Can anyone provide some insight as to whether or not this is the case with Air Dolomiti?
I should have mentioned I do have the right to work in any EU country.

Ciao;

bad news.....

Hi 10-29, have some inside news from air dolomiti,I have a couple of friends working there,and the only way to get a job with them is to be an ex italian airforce guy(most of the people working there are ex airforce) or to know somebody in the inside(managment),let me remind you that you are talking about an italian company,where who you know counts a lot more than how much you know,or how many hrs you have,or types...
I didn't mean to scare you,just giving you a head up....get in touch with the pope or the local chief geronimo(in italian it would be bergamini)....
good luck.....

C 47 is right; I have a couple of friends working for Air Dolomiti and they went in through....the italian's style. Unfortunately is not only Air Dolomiti, but most of the companies in Italy. With all the Italian pilots that I know, I can say that only 20% of them have been successful without any.....specific helps!!!

Unfortunately, also in the US is happing the same kind of ...style. Even holding a green card, I was not able to find a suitable position ...or may be...I was always in a wrong place or wrong time....

Good luck anyway, it's worthy to try (so you can taste personally).

ciao

Tony

I have been recently hired by airdolomiti; I am NOT ex-airforce, nor I knew anyone in the company; I just sent in a CV and they called me for an interview. I frankly don't think I perforemed well in the interview, nor I think that I did at my best at the sim and then in the line training; Eventually they have given me a chance and hired me; I think that they were in need of pilots at that moment so I got lucy and I am trying to pay back this luck with focusing, studying and flying well
air dolomiti is a company with demanding standards and they really want you lto focus, learn their sops to the letter, and be very precise to a certain maniac level; the environment is also very formal due to the military background; is very honest thoguh, and professionaly excellent and fascinating; it is demanding, but honest; Other guys that I got to meet in the company, got hired just by sending in a resume and passing the difficult selction process; it is true that italian-style is reccomendation, but to the extent of what I know, it is not Dolomiti'scase

Difficult Selection??

Hello Gabriele,don't get me wrong,good for you that you made it,but I wouldn't call the selection tough...about 50 questions,10 of which blank,and a personal interview,they don't even check you out in the sim...3 week of ground school,2 of which on your own,and than they send you out to get typed,belive me,somewhere else thing are a lot more complicated than that,not talking about italy.....
and regarding the kick in the butt to get in,maybe some times it's true,few people get lucky without it,but apparently flight experience doesn't garantee you a job in italy.Good luck to you....

Well, probably it was just me but I think Dolomiti has a VERY high standard of training and is very demanding. as per the interview and training I found it tough, but agin perhaps was just me. On the other hand I wa sprobbaly just very lucky and I happened to be at right place at the right time. Being already type rated on their aircraft probbay helped as well, but again, no reccomendations. It is a very honest work/environment. They will give you a chance, beat you and push you, demand that you strive to be always perfect, from the merly formal point of view such as uniforms and appereance , to the more technical as flying performances. but they can also be very understanding and rewarding with some sort of tough/love teaching behaviour.
