Giuff

True. But the wheel will turn.
Wizzair will feel the pain when the people that are hiring now will walk off without notice, as soon as the market picks up, soon enough.
There was a time not many years ago when in Budapest HQ there was panic every month the day after payday, since many would just not show up at the crew rooms in the morning, giving them the proverbial middle finger.

FGE319 16th Aug 2021 22:20

Which leads me to wonder why another company would want crew who refuse to stick to contracts, as it would lead me to wonder what other rules they'll bend/break.

As I've always said, if you don't like a contract, don't sign it. It's as simple as that. If a company can't find enough crew for what they are offer, they'll have to offer increased Ts&Cs.

Newcomer2 16th Aug 2021 22:31

You don't seem to understand that the company didn't respect the contract that the pilots signed. When the company only gives you half of your basic salary due to forced unpaid leave, and also having a forced paycut on the other half due to a new arbitrary covid payscale, people don't feel obligated to fulfill their part of the contract either.

Also i still fail to understand the jurisdiction of a Confair contract. According to a lawyer and labour expert it's not even worth the paper it's printed on. Of course there might be other opinions too.

“ It’s difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it . “

SaulGoodman 17th Aug 2021 21:03

Knowing the owners of Confair a little they are probably right. Parc, Randstad are maybe not perfect but they are professional in a sense. Confair is only working with second tier companies for a reason. The people you have to deal with in confair are completely clueless!

Sick

You clearly not aware of the Wizz recruitment methods. Nevermind.

FGE319

And you must be living in the world of fairies and elves. Clearly not seeing the reality of the world.

Stick to your principles, and maybe you never fly an aircraft again / ever.
Pilots struggle to stand united, look at the "great" unions within Wizz and Ryanair, they are spectacular in how useless they are unfortunately.

dirk85 19th Aug 2021 08:41

Unions are only as strong as their members. If they suck in those companies it is because the pilots don’t have what it takes to stand up.

A321drvr 20th Aug 2021 03:05

In Wizzair's case none, zip, nada. In Ryanair's case they managed to circumnavigate the "issue" with Buzz, Malta Air, etc.

Pearlharbour 20th Aug 2021 07:14

Ryanair Unions are not strong enough BUT in case of WIZZAIR pilots are completely unprotected. Anyway in both Rosters are crap. They are flying 100 hours in 28 days BUT again in WIZZAIR due to lack of pilots they have no roster, just random roster.
Conclusion, no money, no quality of life, fatigue etc etc etc....
WIZZAIR is a company to avoid, a toxic place to be right now. It was not before the pandemic but now I strongly suggest you to stay away or even fly a Cessna 172 in your country as Flight Instructor and you will make more money and will stay at home with your families.
For Captains, be prepared to fly with inexperienced pilots, not seeing your families, in difficult countries, flying to the limit and earning peanuts 🥜.

good luck

Banana Joe 20th Aug 2021 08:19

A321drvr

What have they circumnavigated exactly? DAC and Malta Air have unions in the countries they have bases, and conditions improved since then.

I leave to you Buzz, but some love being contractors in good times as it can be quite profitable.

TorqueStripe 20th Aug 2021 08:34

And what about Lauda Europe's new contracts paying only 40EUR/block hour with no hourly guarantee?

WizzAir Recruitment 2021

Hi Everyone !

Anyone went to the Wizzair Pilot Assessments recently and would be kind to give us a short feedback ?

Thanks :)

Miraan 22nd Aug 2021 14:20

Hi all
I was there few days ago
The day starts with a presentation of wizz
Toguether with consitions of employment and some companys plans for the future
Then we got the exam and after group exercise
I didnt make it to the second stage with other 5 people
Only 10 made it to the sim and 6 passed all the process

Was a really nice experience and we all had a warm welcome , had the chance to see old friends and to chance to meet other great people
All wizz people where very friendly , polite and professional
I have been reading here coments and posts about terms and conditions etc etc
And now that i was there i can say that conditions are very good and with expected fast and great career progression

Looking forward for the 12 months to pass so i can apply again.

Banana Joe 22nd Aug 2021 14:37

Can you expand on "conditions are very good"?

Miraan 22nd Aug 2021 15:02

well dont remember all numbers , basic pay even during training , with acomodation , transport etc
after line training basic pay plus landings plus km and compensation in case you fly on day off , out of base , etc etc
ofcourse as more you work more you earn , and for example as i am the kind of person that doesnt like to be home bored i prefer to work 😁
as i said the lucky ones ho pass all the process ( in my opinion ) can espect good salary ( even on now a days with pay cuts around europe ) and good progression

papalovesjumbo 22nd Aug 2021 15:12

Thanks for the feedback. Nice to see people not trashtalking after rejection. (assuming you are real :))

Miraan 22nd Aug 2021 15:19

welcome , i take it as a positive experience , i have learn more about wizz and about what my future can look like there , every assement even if we fail is always a experience and we always learn from
It , if i get called again i will try to go more rested ( i arrived there after 15 hours driving and only 3 hours of sleep ) and i will also try to be more prepared

PilotLZ 22nd Aug 2021 17:54

Sorry to hear that you haven't been successful on this attempt. But, just as the previous posters, I would like to congratulate you on having such a positive attitude. Many people get very bitter after an outcome which was not the one they had hoped for. It's good to see that not everyone is like that.

Six out of how many people passed?

Captain Spam Can 22nd Aug 2021 21:28

A friend of mine went for interview, he was asked to explain String Theory, I think their future plans involve the USS Enterprise.
