MCC Simtech Dublin OR Sky4u Berlin RYANAIR.
Dear colleages,
I am about to finish my CPL,IR and ME and I need to make an important decission in order to achieve my goal of becoming an excellent commercial Pilot. Next step in my eduation is to choose a good and competent training center to take the MCC and if I can use ryanair sop's even better. Both training centers are quite good and they count with a program to enhance your CV in the eyes of airliners. If you need to choose between Simtech in Dublin or Sky4u in Berlin, Which one would you choose for and why? Pricewise it is very much the same comparing both APS MCC. If you are looking to complete an APS MCC with an official Ryanair partner go with Sky4u https://www.sky4u-berlin.com/courses/aps-mcc-course/ Just to clarify, Ryanair has no affiliations or agreements with Simtech and never had. Best of luck with your MCC |

I d like to try the assessment for the RYR APS MCC at Sky4u but I really don't know what to review... They've mentioned 4 things : atpl assessment, English test, psychological test and psychotenic test. Has anyone passed it already and can help us with his/her feedback? |
APS-MCC assessment
Hello everyone,
A little insight into the APS-MCC assessment here at SKY4u in Berlin: during your 1-day-test you may expect:
Specific preparation is not required, but we recommend that you address the following topics:
You will receive a comprehensive introduction to the psychometric test procedures during the exam, and you will also have time to do some practice forehand of the respective measurement phase. If you have ever heard of something like "Skytest" or "cut-e" and similar aptitude tests, then this what you may expect. For the interview we are looking for a relaxed athmosphere, we would like you to be well prepared, have your logbook tidy, show us your passion for flying, be positive, self-confident without being over-confident, self reflecting and "properly dressed". We are seeking pilots in the role as first officers with the look into the future as airline captains... We are conducting an assessment every week, preferably on Wednesday, occasionally on other days. The APS-MCC course will start every week on Monday. can you tell me a definite advantage of the APS MCC compared with a normal MCC? That justifies the higher price? |

An APS uses a specific aircraft type, for example Simtech use the 737-800 for their APS. They use the Boeing FCOMs and you'll spend your time studying the same aircraft Ryanair use. Also, you'll spend 40 hours on the sim (instead of 24 for the standard JOC) which will be helpful when you are going for your sim assessment in Ryanair. To take it a step further, by going for the AFTA or Sky4u, Ryanair APS schemes, you'll spend your time learning specific Ryanair procedures and callouts. This leaves you in a much stronger position when going for a job at Ryanair. However, if you go somewhere else it may be of little use (depending on their aircraft type). |

I'm not talking about flight schools in the first place, but about the APS MCC. IMO it makes no sense. Why pay more without any advantage during the screening process?

APS gives nobody any job guarantee. I'll just decided to do a MCC JOC at lower cost and I'll do it at Cockpit4u or TFC. These have a high reputation and many contacts at different airlines - not only one like RYR.
