Tiger I have 240 hours FT + 80 sim, I'm a glider pilot and I applied 1 year ago but I've never been contacted for an interview :}

After the line check you get 1666 eur gross + sectorpay gross. This has to be reduced with 1000 eur 15 months long. I still dont get it how people can survive on this. :ugh: When i went to the assessment, highly qualified people with a320 rating also failed the assessment while the low timers got through.

I am a glider pilot also with total hours > 500 but they don't accept that :( And don't laugh at glider pilots tiger1975! Some of them fly much better than you! It's not that easy as you think!
Btw where do you fly marcoBCN?

I think that what is correct with the number is 1500€ per month plus sector. For the non rated you have to pay for 15 months 1000€/month to pay back your type rating. You will be paid this salary until reaching the senior FO status which has been changed from 1500hrs to 2700-2800hrs (correct me of I am wrong).

I am not sure what kind of profile they are looking for but for me they just try to get a clear picture of the pilots in Europe. Once they want rated pilots for their base in LT or LV, the month before it was general requirement without a specific base.
They play the yo yo with the requirements since they have reopen the position during the summer.
Moreover they have changed their selection process and a lot of people failed it! The technical part and the HR are the tricky parts!

Regarding the open day. They stated the requirements during the presentation and these differed from those advertised on the Wizz air website, for the open day. One of the attendees politely pointed this out in the packed room and the Wizz air representatives, then agreed to accept those C.V.'s that met the requirement on the web site.

I was surprised at the lack of presentation skills the Wizz air staff had and the lack of organisation. They hired a small room, when they new they would get a lot of people, perhaps they should have a registration process with a limit via their website. Then those handing the C.V's in, had to queue for a few hours to meet two Wizz representatives.

Standing back, it was interesting thinking how many highly trained and intelligent pilots were their, for poor paying jobs with poor benefits. When compared to other careers. I was surprised no one asked Wizz during the HR presentation, were they embarrassed with the financial packages on offer. I would assume some with experience, may give Wizz a pass.

Wizz also told the attendees that they have a 8% turn over of pilots.

Regarding all of us pilots, I have to say smth, it is also our fault that this business is a **** business and we get peanuts for flying!! You know why? very simple....because people will and have been known to DO ANYTHING to fly , literally speaking fly for free!! and that is exactly what all these smallass companies take advantage of!! low time pilots with NO experience who are willing to work for FREE for the next 3 -4 years!!! Try living anywhere in Europe with 2,000 Euros per month!!! deduct 500 for rent which of course they dont provide, and good luck if you wanna go home on you OFF days!! then you will have to drive 2-3 hrs to the nearest major airport and pay maybe 400-500 euros for your ticket home!! that leaves you with less than 1000 Euros to survive for a month!!! GOOD LUCK with that!!! its a ****ty company and a ****ty situation overall now in Europe and they take advantage of that!!! For all the experienced pilots with A320 hours , guys dont waste your time, they are only looking to hire zero hrs on the 320 and without TR, so they will dry them out like lemons over the next 3 years with literally zero pay!!!!

I live in Poland since 10/2004 and I can tell you that my family and I (4pob) can live with one salary which is less that what you have mentioned! Of course we do not live in a palace but we have everything!!! Most of Wizz bases are in central and Eastern Europe so with 2000€ you are not the new king in town but you live, you pay back your loan and if you are smart enough you can still safe some money.

Maybe you are right about Wizz hiring low hour cadet rated or non rated (even if I am still not hired!) even if they were hiring experienced pilots this summer.

I think that Wizz is not working for free as you get paid... Forget about starting in a major with 7k as FO low hours... It does not happen! Or if it happens it is one pilot for 2000-3000 of us!
Low hours pilots need to start somewhere... Of course if you are running after the money I can tell you that you should not choose this career...
Even if I will have to move somewhere else I won't start to commute during my OFF's as it will cost a lot! For two years your friends and relatives can visit U in the middle of Romania or Serbia... That is your choice!
You will be lucky to be based where you live!

The career model has changed during the last 20-30 years! And you cannot still live in the past!
Don't act like some people who are only considering to work for the major from their country AF BA...
