Wizzair open day Riga October 2014
Open day 8/10/2014 in Riga
Pilots Only for Lithuanian or Latvian passport holders! Good luck for the ones who match the criteria |
Only for Lithuanian or Latvian passport holders! |
Yes it does state that - very clearly....
" WHO: PILOTS WHO MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS All candidates must hold a Lithuanian or Latvian passport. All pilots that have unrestricted right to live and work in the European Union and have a current and Valid JAR/EASA (or National equivalent) AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT'S LICENCE (or), COMMERCIAL PILOT'S LICENCE with a valid MPA-IR and passes in all ATPL subjects, and at least the minimum flying hours in the following table are welcome to join Wizz Air’s growing team. |
My bad.. :}
|
Is 500 requirement for power driven aircraft or any aircraft? Can gliders be counted? Anyway they are certified GA aircraft... and 30 hours counts even for CPL requirements
|
Only for Lithuanian or Latvian passport holders! It's nice to know, but is this allowed within the EU? I would have thought a more legal way of discriminating in this way would be to just stipulate the language requirement like the rest of continental Europe. |
WHO: PILOTS WHO MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Speaking Latvian or Lithuanian will be an advantage All pilots that have unrestricted right to live and work in the European Union and have a current and Valid JAR/EASA (or National equivalent) AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT'S LICENCE (or), COMMERCIAL PILOT'S LICENCE with a valid MPA-IR and passes in all ATPL subjects, and at least 1000 flying hours are welcome to join Wizz Air’s growing team |
Would you attend the roadshow as non latvian or lithuanian?
|
Didn't they put this min 1000h requirement just now? Wasn't there before?!?
So nice for people with less hours that have already arranged their plane tickets for Riga... |
Actually they put it at the same time they removed the LT/LS Passport thing. So if someone had arranged tockets to there, they were actually arranging tickets back home :)
I am beginning to think that with the online applocation form they are just surveying the market. Now that they know that over the Baltic states there are quite a few pilots with experience they just rise the numbers. |
And another Low Houred pilot job gone. Getting less and less chances to get a job anywhere :( .
First it was 200 hrs ACTUAL and JOC. Now 1000 hrs as min. Where should a beginner get those hrs if we never get any chance anywhere else? |
And I believe will remain so... Unfortunately for us, low hour pilots. Wizz Air is planning to contract an ATO to train their own ab-initio pilots. Most probably will be a self-funded program. :ouch:
|
If you do not have more than 500 hours JAR 25 jet time or ME turbo-prop time, or more than 1000 hours MEP time, then you should apply for Cadet non type rated (regardless of other experience). 1000H MEP is for experienced First Officer. |
Does anyone know the content of this open day and what to expect please?
|
It will most probably be like it was in Bucharest. Company presentation to all participants (history, future prospects, bases, salary, min requirements etc) and thereafter all participants got a very short interview (your name and if you meet all minimum requirements). If you got all minimum requirements (they strictly follow their minimum req!!!) you were invited to complete a pilot data sheet and gave it back to them. If you didn't meet all min you were told to apply as soon as you got all min req completed and inform them via e-mail.
|
Thanks for the info, so as I understand there are no technical MCQ about the ATPL ?
|
Not at the Open Day. All they want is to prospect the market and to collect data sheets from suitable candidates. After a time they will decide if you will get an invitation for an interview in Budapest.
|
open day
Quite confusing they keep changing the requirements… So for rated pilots (0hours) with 800 hours total there is no point going there?
|
Another question, guys.. in the minimum requirements for the open day, they wrote: "COMMERCIAL PILOT'S LICENCE with a valid MPA-IR and passes in all ATPL subjects, and at least 1000 flying hours are welcome to join Wizz Air’s growing team" I have a CPL with IR/ME (SP) with more than 1000 hrs total time and all other reqs... they want a MPA rating on the licence or is enough the basic ME/IR (SP)??
|
well I believe it is very clear written! CPL with MPA-IR. :hmm:
Hope this helps. |
What is MPA-IR?
|
Hi all, i'm going to Riga for the open day next week and i wanted to know if someone could tell how it goes?
Just a brief with the team ? or a short interview with some question about us and wizzair ? Thanks you for your feedback. |
Multi Pilot Aeroplane - Instrument Rating.
This means that your IR renewal/revalidation was done on a multi pilot aeroplane and so you must be already flying on multi crew aeroplanes. A bizarre requirement. |
ive got only IRME and experience on ME...
|
Uhm.... I really don't understand the MCC requirement if they are looking just for MPA pilots... If a pilot already has an MPA rating, is implied that he has an MCC... do you'll go in Riga kubaat3lover?
|
WHAT TO BRING: -SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS for ME/IR rating I don't think I have any others documents than my professional licence, where the ME/IR rating is duly filled by the authorities, including validity... Anything else needed? |
Uhm.... I really don't understand the MCC requirement if they are looking just for MPA pilots... If a pilot already has an MPA rating, is implied that he has an MCC... do you'll go in Riga kubaat3lover? i dont know yet... i planned but i dont know that fulfill requirements. |
I'm not sure of course, but probably they mean the flight school declaration for IR/ME course completion.
|
Anyone was on openday in Riga??
|
I love it when people ask all sorts of pointless questions prior an event and when that is gone just disappear and keep the news to themselves.
|
I didn't go in Riga and i don't have any news. I just checked my online application and now is disappeared the "status" that before was "NEW". Anyone know what that mean?
|
The same for me! No more status...
|
MarcoBCN and LIAP... Are you guys rated no hour on type?
I have got the same for my status and don't know how to understand that! Our application is still in the system but no status! I guess since they have changed their minima |
Cadet non rated :ok:
|
Cadet no rated with more then 1000 hrs TT... we can just wait for news from wizz
|
Marco, do you also have flying experience... More than 500-1000 hours?
All my friends from my class were rejected directly and I suppose because they are cadet with 250/300 hours max! |
Negative! 320 TT (240 flight time) but I never get a rejection mail... :\
|
Wizzair Recruitment Truths
To whoever is interested in applying for Wizzair, please for your own sake and well being, DO NOT apply unless you are a glider pilot with 250 hrs Total Time, a low timer with no jet experience, otherwise you will waste your money and time as they also do not provide hotel during the 3 day interview!
So truth is , out of 25 pilots just 4 had A320 experience and they hired none, they are only looking for non rated zero time student pilots that they will only have to pay 1000 Euros for the first year, and 1400 for the other two in order to pay back the so called 35,000 Euros bond for the type rating!!! A type rating that in Europe now costs about 11,000 only!!! what a joke!!! So lads, DO NOT APPLY unless you are a student pilot or a low timer, that is about the only truth!!!! |
1000 € for first year and 1400 € for another two is total mistake :yuk:. tiger1975, where did you get those figures, during open day? Is there anything to be added to this amount like sector pay?
|
I thought there was the possibility to pay the typerating yourself and only being bonded for the base training for 1 year.
Did they not mention this possibility?? |
